First dinner alone
ya... my mummy left this afternoon... she shud be landing back home in a few more hours...

ahem. well. it'll be interesting ne? so far it's pretty ok... kinda like college when i'm locked up in my room attempting to study except it's much quieter. and did i mention that the tv is my best fren now? hahaha. watching 'heroes' now... it's quite like x-men except more... i dunno. not so elitist and far fetched i guess? like you know, how all of them are holed up in professor x's mansion and saving the world at random intervals in that funky stealth fighter (i want one for my birthday) but i digress. tv is good. but tv is distracting too so SIGH.
cooked some sort of chicken vegetable soup thing for dinner. figured that i might as well cook that since mum wrote out instructions on how use the hot plate more efficiently than just leaving it on and turning it off at the end like a gas fire... cos the water can actually boil for abt 5 min after turning off the hot plate. cool ya? haha. ya. so i had my first go at defatting chicken. i think i shud stop being so obsessive abt fat. cos i'll prob be stuck at the sink forever if i try to remove every scrap of fat... oh well, but yes, in the end it turned out pretty alright... a bit too much water but still quite ok. very full now cos i brilliantly decided that i wanted to throw some rice in with the potato and only realised exactly how much i'd cooked at the end after putting in the veggies... at least i know that i'm not going to starve to death anytime soon. XD hahaha... need to decide exactly wat the heck i'm cooking for dinner tmr... i keep changing my mind... so need to pop down to safeway after lab tmr... or maybe aldi's see how's the weather and how far i feel like walking. probably will drop my stuff back home first since either one's on the way i guess... la la la.
supervisor mailed back to ask me to meet him next tues... feel a bit bad cos he said that he's kinda busy... but hopefully can sort everything out... for those who didn't know, i've more or less changed my mind abt wanting to do AMS back home, so there's a high chance that i'll be staying back in melb, unless ken manages to convince me otherwise or if i have no choice. i dunno if it's just me or if it's really the way things are so different back home and over here, but i think i'll be happier here. shall just trust God with the whole AMS year. if anything, it's only a year, it'll be over soon. so hai desu. off to do some work now... maybe sleep early? dunno.. got icm tmr morning and prac in the afternoon... but i still haven't touched pbl. joy. bleh. bye!

Ramble
just watched a tv program abt a pair of conjoined twins, they're joined from shoulder down, each girl can only feel the arm and leg on her side, they have separate organs until it comes to their large intestine and repro organs. and yet they're perfectly normal. they play softball, volleyball, they have a drivers license and they're just like 2 different pple who happened to be stuck in 1 body. amazing stuff. makes you think abt how wonderfully we're made and how we function.
sometimes i wonder what would have happened if i wasn't born into my family, brought up like this with a (hahaha) funky mum. XD seriously, how many mums at the age of 40 would get all 3 daughters together, load up the water guns and have a water gun fight using the bedrooms and shared toilets, and then get it all cleaned up by 5pm before dad and our grandparents came home? (ya, that was a loooong time ago when we were still living with my grandparents... abt 17 years?) sigh. ya. so mum's going back home tmr... sniff sniff sob sob... going to be living all by myself for the first time. don't think it'll be that bad, i've got my manga, anime and tv and of course STUDY to keep me company. hahaha. ya... oh, and my sofa is now my official napping spot. it's comfy enough to make me sleep happily for abt an hour, but it's short enough that if i try to curl up for any longer than 1.5h, i start to cramp and my legs fall asleep. XD whee!
ok. shall cut the almost philosophical rambling and go sleep or smthg. bloody 8am's... and why can't they sort out the damn lecture notes on the site??? it's irritating... and also, must plan wat to cook for dinner for tmr... chicken stew??? LALING! PREASE TO DRAGS ME OUTS OF BEDS AND TOS THES MARKETS ON SATS DESU!!! i've already warned mum to have her phone on standby at abt 3.30 pm s'pore time everyday... in case i forget when i'm supposed to put the chicken in or varoius other culinary emergency qns. hahahaha. ok. shall read divinitas (updated!) and then go sleep. may i have happy dreams of aether and phoenix. XD

Between lectures
in computer lab. supposed to be reading articles but just looking at the number of pages us making me stoned. zzzz... double lecture after this. helpness.
for once i'm glad i have a writing journal. some things are better left unsaid to pple concerned. and no, i'm not depressed. maybe just sleepy. and if anyon'es worried, i'm not badmouthing anyone there. promise.
mum's gong home tmr... kinda excited abt the whole cooking for self thing. and this is where everyone screams "OMFG SHE'S GETTING BLOODY DOMESTICATED!!!!" tee hee. planning menus is fun when you can't get to sleep... altho i think i've forgotten when i'm supposed to put the chicken in when cooking curry. ^_^" ahem. who wants to be my guinea pig????? XDXDXD
still haven't mailed my supervisor. having second thots abt goinng home for AMS. will i really be happy in the lab there? no idea. maybe it's just how all those higher academcs are in a world of their own and give the impressioin that they don't really care altho they are nice in a detached sort of way. maybe. but how to tell the aussie co-ordinator that in a non-curry favouring way esp after i was so enthu abt wanting to go home? sigh. life's complicated with all the decisions.
microbio is fascinatingly evil. interestig how smart bacteria are, and now i'm getting vaguely paranoid abt bugs. like mixing the knife for veggies and meat. heck, even now when i open my face moisturizer bottle (the tub kind not the squeeze one) i remember the expeirments abt transient flora and stuff and.... eeewwwwww... maybe i shud live in a sterile envt... can someone sterilize my PS2, TV and all my games and then pass it thru to my glass bubble please? thanks. XDXDXDXD
stoned. shud stop typing soon and get moving... it's cold in the lab, going to be colder in the LT. i forgot to wear a belt with my jeans today and i'm not used to it. not that it's dropping or anything but it feels wierd cos i always wear a belt even tho i dun need to. -_-" obsessive compulsive watever. The Australian Saga Episode 1-3
well, i was going to type this up in 3 parts for fun, you know, kinda like star wars ep 1-6 kind of thing, but i figured that pple who can actually be bothered to read this would kill me slowly if i did that so i shall try to condense this:
episode 1 - the airplane sagai bought shoes at the airport!! bwahahah. ahem. yes, for those who have alreayd forgotten, i left on fri nite 2 weeks ago... the movies on board were pretty good. watched 'the banquet' and 'open season' and 'the queen'... but the big drama was abt 1.5h after take-off during supper... omg, that was the worst turbulence i've ever been thru, i was grabbing the seatback in front of me. the plane just dropped straight down for a few seconds and it was really really bad... pple were screaming and the stewardess' were actually crouching on the floor next to the service trolley so they wouldn't fall down... i seriously thot that we were going to crash and die and it was so not funny at that time, i think i never prayed so hard in my entire life so far. but yes, we survived, got out of it ok as everyone can tell from reading my ramble for the past few posts... strange tho, the turbulence is usually only worse when crossing over darwin, never that early in the flgith... so ya, thank God for getting me back here in 1 piece. ^_^
episode 2 - the apartment saga so, we arrived here on sat morning. as everyone knows, most pple don't work on sat, housing agents included. basically mum and i rocked up to reception at my new apartment and found out that we were homeless. -_-" we'd actually been trying to get in touch with the agent the whole week before we left to ask for details abt the apartment, but she didn't reply. found out later that she's injured her leg and been away long enough to amss 700 e-mails. so mum finally contacted her on thurs before we left and she promised to sort thru our lease. apparently she didnt. so we got there and i had no apartment, the agent was uncontactable, she hadn't done anything cos her printer and laptop crashed, and teh receptionist had no idea wat to do with us. a small pause here to say thanks to tim for letting me screech down the phone at him in chinese when he called to check if i needed help moving... incidentally, i freaked him out when i told him to say 'hello auntie' and then passed the phone to my mum. XDXXD bwahahaha. but back to the story. eventually we got hold of the agent and she said to give us the keys to all the empty apartments and we could choose from there. so mum and i went on tour to see them. the first one was the newest to be released, nice and big, but i didn't really like it at first cos it was a cloudy day and it was kinda grey inside... went to 5th floor and saw one with a balcony and very bright, so i said i wanted that one. thing was that there was no way they could connect the power to any of those empty apartments. and even tho the agent told recep to give us the key to move in, the recep couldn't find any of the keys to that apt, so that was out. so, we had to find a place to sleep for the nite... at first they wanted us to go to an affiliated apt in north melb, but wasn't very feasible cos i had uni on mon and there was no way i was going to move all my boxes from goddess' and waku's place to the rented apt, and then again over to my new place. finally we managed to get a room in the same block so we moved all my stuff over that afternoon. slept 18h the first nite, watched tv on sun and mon was up bright and early to sort out the apt with the agent. in the end, we didn't take the unit on 5th floor, cos it's facing main road and gets direct sun so it's really hot in the afternoon. took the initial unit that was rec to us and yup, love it now. XD it's spacious and airy and i've got an ensuite. not supposed to put posters on the wall, but hey, wat they don't know won't kill them. my excuse is that only cheap paint peels off on blutack. ^_~
episode 3 - the internet sagabasically, there's only 1 provider for the whole block, and that company is notorious among the residents and staff for being s.l.o.w.a.s.h.e.l.l.a.n.d.i.a.m.n.o.t.e.x.a.g.g.e.r.a.t.i.n.g. anyway, it apparently can take weeks to get connected, but i was determined not to wait that long. i faxed in my request on tues and by fri i was ringing to ask when i'd get connected. the guy told me to refax it. -_-" mon i called again to ask, another guy said it'd be done tues mid-day. tues afternoon, nothing. i rang again, another guy answered, told me to fax the damn form over for the 3rd time and then called to confirm receipt and said i'd be connected tues evening. wed morning, still nothing. rang again, got a girl operator, asked her wat the heck was going on, she said she'd ring back after discussing with the guys from mon and tues, so she rang back when i was on my way to smith street with mum adn said i'd get connected by that evening. thurs morning, STILL NOTHING. was relaly pissed off by then, so i rang again and happened to connect to the girl from wed. asked to speak to the person in charge (the receptionist gave me his name) and she said that there's no such person in charge. so i said then let me speak to whoever's in charge of the whole internet thing, and she said that there's noone specifically in charge. then i got quite irritated and i said so tell me exactly what is going on over at your end becos all the pple that i've spoken too have been making me empty promises to connect me immediately and there's been nothing done, you can't find my name on the database altho i specifically received a call from another guy to confirm receipt of the fax the 3rd time i sent it over and that the co. really wasn't living up to it's reputation as a leading telecomm provider. i think she also started getting a bit irritated already, cos she said that it wasn't her fault, it was another girl who was in charge of entering the data and she was currently uncontactable, and have i tried checking my e-mail to see if they'd sent the details over to me. like!!! WTF?!?!?!? i almost blew up at that, so i told her very sarcastically how am i supposed to check my mail when i have no internet connection? just becos i'm a uni student doesn't mean that i can access the labs as and when i want and at anytime as tho it's so easy to get to teh uni lab when i feel like checking mail. grr. but anyway, after that i gave up and decided to wait till mon cos i realy didn't feel like talking to them, but they rang on fri evening and said i got connected so YAY! XDXD
and yup, that's the end of my sagas. whee! sigh. need to study muchly desu.... oh and update abt dance, tia broke her leg so she's stuck in indonesia altho she wants to come back here. poor girl. tyson's training me up for silver latin for the may medal.... help. learning to samba proeprly... i swear i heard my hip pop many times. meow. oh and he decided to end off mu lesson by spining me round and round many times at high speed till i bashed my elbow across his chest and went flying off the floor. mum was very amused. >< bleh. tis an ebil conspiracy against me... but yesh, is good to be dancing again, altho i ened to learn how to balance proper;y in heels... wearing wedges has spoilt me. XD tee hee. ok. shall go print notes now... all hail coloured pics of fungi and gross infections. watw better way to keep me awake ne? XD hahahaha.
and to anyone who wants to come visit me within the next 3 months, i can cook curry for you. i got a bottle of curry paste that i just opened today that needs to be finished in 3 months. XD whee! ok. i poof now. bye bye!

WOOHOO!! i have internet at last~! since fri actually, but been busy therefore no blogging.... and i won't be blogging the great internet/apartment saga until a later date cos now i'm busying
downloading manga highlighting my notes. but yesh, internet is good, wireless is even better. it means that next time i can migrate my laptop out and chat while watchign tv. see? killing 2 birds with 1 stone. XDXD sha la la. so ya, will blog at a later date. oh, and mum's here till wed so i'm happy happy joy joy. XD ya so... I LIVE~! whee~!

Quick update
yup, i'm alive, altho i 'm just abt melting in the heat. bleh. i'm t yping this in the com lab before pbl... and if anyone's asking why i haven't been updating or why not type at ho me, let' just thank aussie efficiency re my internet. >< i had to refax my form today so they could hceck if they'd actually signed me up for anything. -_-" so hopefully it'll be settled by the time i get home from pbl, or else i'll have to wait till mon. sigh. but no internet is kinda good... it means i watch more tv. bwahaha. many programs to watch now. whee!
will update again at a later date (ie: when i have internet) abt the major drama that happened when i first got here... for now i shall go and clear my mailboxes. sigh. bye bye everyone!

Rush
argh. i hate packing to go anywhere... well, i've folded my clothes nicely and put t hem in my luggage (where they actually take up quite little space as compared to when they were all on my bed. ^_^") but i haven't added in my dvds and cds and my chargers and stationary... just had a dvd burning spree and got rid of stuffon my hard drive... after which i kinda just filled it all the way up again with all teh manga i d/led this hols ^_^" sha la la. tee hee. looks like i won't be having bored days anytime soon. but must study muchly this sem ne?
that guy called again. i'm really starting to wonder... but at least this time i had excuse that i was packing. which i wasn't. i was reading divinitas. but yanno, reading divinitas and talking to a guy is not a very good combi ne? XDXD bwahahaha. ya. but as i said, i wonder.
going out with lyd again tmr... it was a last min thing cos when i went out with sis today, she brought me to printz, thsi really cool s hop with pretty paper and ribbons... and i got myself a red velvet ribbon to wear as a necklace and another translucent maroon-ish one, which i'm going to make into a choker like christina aguilera's on the cover of her debut album (yes, i've wanted her necklace for THAT long). and since i don't have any beads and she's the current bead queen.... we're going bead shopping tmr. *bangs head on wall* and then i can have art and craft lessons in aussie when i'm not reading manga and watching anime. which would prob be during first 2 weeks when mum's there. XD got a lot of incrimnating manga that can't be read when other ppl are ard ne? XDXD i'd make earrings except i don't have the pliers and wires and beads... and it's all lyd's fault cos she brought over her bead case and stuff on mon when she came over to pirate from me (i transferred 60gig of stuff to her harddrive.) and she taught me how to make the earring hooks and then we had an earring making spree esp at nite after sis went home and went a bit high choosing beads. XD so yesh, i now know how to make earrings altho my hooks aren't perfectly circular and tend to look vaguely like coat hangers. XDXD it's actually quite fun to play with the beads and come up with the various combis ne? XD ya...
ok. shall read a bit more divinitas and then go upstairs and pack all my stuff into my luggage... i hope i got enough baggage allowance... how heavy can a couple of pots be right? ^_^" ya. dunno when i'll update next, maybe fri morning when i'm updating my laptop and clearing stuff from it... or else it'll be back in melb where i'll hopefully have internet really soon. and i just realised that i shdu have made a new layout... -_-" oh well. another day maybe. or maybe i'll jsut recycle my vincent wallpaper and code it for my blog ne? la la la. byes~

Chocobo naming
you know yuo've played too mcuh FF7 when all your chocobos have wierd names or none at all. ^_^" my first 2 were ChocoA and ChocoC. if you want to know where ChocoB is, well, i let it loose cos it sucked. XDXD then my blue chocobo is called Ah Bu (named by my mum who had just woken up from an afternoon nap) and my green chocobo is called Veggie. XDXDXD sha la la. i'm going to call my wonderful chocobo Whee! and my black chocobo soubi or ritsuka depending on it's gender... and then my gold chocobo will be... hmmm... that one i'll think abt it when i get it. but not bad, i managed to get my green and blue chocobos in 1 afternoon.
forgot to buy the HP plus materia before mideel got trashed... not very smart but oh well, i'll live. going on huge materia quests now, wil be dropping by wutai later on tonite i think to get yuffie sub quest over with... must get conformer from the shinra sub too... i want better weapons sha la la. whee~! hahaha... ok. shall go and shower now... just had yummy seafood dinner and black pepper crab... so shall go and vegetate in front of the PS. XDXD have started talks with sis as to my terms for doing her ironing after she moves out... 2nd sis is going to pay me to go over, oldest sis will bribe me with her husband's PS3 (yes, he's getting one eventually) and his huge stash of games and anime. bwahahahaha. i look forward to her getting married. XD oh, and lyd's coming over tmr for mutual pirating session. whoopee do da~! okies. i goes poof now... my back itches... think i got bitten by a mosquito during dinner. >< bleh. bye!

yay~! finished disc 1 of ff7... now must hurry pia the rest... mou, got killed byjenova the first time round tho... cos my HP wasn't high enough... so went to train a bit... vincent's level 2 break looks entertaining... i just hope that the enemies in the mountain area don't absorb lightning otherwise he'll be healing them with the livewire attack. -_-" other than that his attack hit for lots of damage so whoopee do da. XD tee hee.
going to watch the romeo and juliet ballet with mum tmr. fun fun fun! and i think we're going for seafood dinner either tmr nite or sun nite... pepper crab here i come!!!!! *bounces excitedly*

Group listings
well, they're out, and unfortunately i'm not in the lucky grp that gets thursdays off... BUT i do get wed off (apart from the stupid 8 am lecture) and friday mornings off. which means that i don't need to stress that much over getting PBL done. XD will print out the timetable and then start highlighting after i get my highlighters later... and oh horror of horrors, guess who's in my PBL??? a certain socially awkward guy!!! MAG!!! HELP!!! *faints* and considering it's a sem of viruses and STDs........ oh dear. *digs hole and hides* will go and scrutinize the grp list more closely later... gtg see dentist soon. sigh. but looks like i won't know anone in my tute grps this time... oh, and guess wat? christopher grossman is in my ICM or PBL, can't remember which. nyuk nyuk, do you think i can pick his brains for info abt the histo pracs??? and i'm very glad it's the grossman and not the goldfinch in my grp. it's not my fault if i committed murder due to that idiot's irritatingness. >< bleh.
erm, wat else... ya... FF7... going well. in the mountains of nibel now. just got vincent into my party so yay for that. too bad he's not as bishie as in dirge, but i'll survive. hopefully i won't get too irritated with his limit breaks and decide to swap him out... if that happens then i think i'll end up using yuffie and tifa as my final team... *shrugs* oh well. watever. ok. shall go bug mum now cos she's LATE! and i think i'll go buy more gummy bears when i go parkway later... they is good for fangirl soul desu. sigh. to qoute britney, "oops, i did it again." it in this case being my eternal obsession with FF7 and yes, i've started playing it. AGAIN. for the nth time. *head desk* trying to pia it before i go back to aussie... altho i just heard from waku that goddess has it for the PC so... nyuk nyuk nyuk. trying to train the characters slightly more than usual tho... so i've already managed to get aerith's level 2 break already and i'm only at gongaga. XD whee~! but i plan to use yuffie and vincent for my final party. haven't started training yuffie yet, trying to get tifa to level 2 break before i switch to yuffie, cos now i'm training up red 13 for teh cosmo canyon thingy that he has to do... sha la la. oh well it's all good. sort of. kinda pissed off cos one of the stupid bandit's at the corel prison STOLE THE BLOODY PEACEMAKER GUN WHICH I WAS SAVING FOR VINCENT!!! *throws tantrum* and i didn't want to reset to get it back so... sigh. bye bye peacemaker gun. never got to see you used before and prob never will. ><
been trying to ring and mail the housing agent abt my apartment but she is MIA... may we be able to get thru soon, otherwise me and mum will be homeless for a nite if they decide that they can't change my lease to start a day earlier. -_-" sigh. dun wanna go back... means that i'll have to start studying again, but on the other hand it's kinda exciting to be living by myself. ps: i forgot, smthg funny happened yesterday, i got cornered by the most enthu model scout ever. she actually stood right in my path with her hands outstretched barring me from moving and started a very long list (very loudly) abt why i shud become a model. lucky lyd was there to save me by dragging me away while telling the girl that i'm leaving for aussie soon. *rofl* according to lyd, that girl is super irritating cos she kena cornered by her before too, so when lyd sees her in the orchard mrt area, she turns and runs in the opp direction. XDXDXD
pps: i'm wondering whether or not this guy i met at pre-departure is trying to pick me up... males are wierd. but he's fun to bash, altho... if he actualyl asks me out. i'll give him $2 and tell him to buy a kite and fly it. XD where are all the bishies??? maybe it's jjust like lyd said, all the cute guys are in japan. and then there's waku's "prince charming is living with mr. right".
