Me again the pasta sauce bottle
grrrr... *cracks knuckles* this is the longest i've taken to open a bottle... almost 15 min!!! just couldn't get the damn cap off, did they vacuum lock it super tight or wat??? i used rubber bands, steamed it over my pasta and finally poured a whole cup of hot water over it!!! didn't work at all. -_-" it got to the point where both my hands were aching and i was contemplating smashing the bottle open after many prayers and curses to get it open when it FINALLY opened. -_-" so yes. now i'm sitting happy with a big bowl of pasta... except my estimation with noodles has gone kaput again. coooked too much. *falls down* haha, waku laling we got the same problem desu! the unwillingness to keep food for another day XD
anyway, i got home for lunch again today and decided to sleep. told supervisor i'll give him the draft on thursday, so i've got tonite to finish it. so guess who's pulling an all-nighter? i managed to impress him with my logic that it's a VERY ROUGH DRAFT BUT (emphasis on BUT) i'll keep reading and adding to it and incorporate it into my final thesis. XD so here's hoping that it doesn't turn out as shite as sometimes i think it's going to be. the lit review that is, not the final thesis. but there's hope for me yet in research. when i finally got down to reading and writing, i realised that i actually quite enjoyed it. it's just stats that i hate. la la la.

music video. they didn't make her previuos singles into music videos. and in case anyone else is wondering who the heck she is, she's my pastor's wife, first s'porean to break into the american music scene with i dunno how many billboard number 1's. and does the s'pore media care? no, they just slam her and bash her becos she's a PASTOR'S wife. therefore she's not suppposed to be doing all this. nope, she's supposed to be at home counselling pple. well, i think she's done a lot for the china and taiwanese youth,. and she's the official music ambassador for the beijing olympics, so there you have it, go sun! but my main complaint abt the video is kinda stereotypical asian kind of thing altho the guy who directs britney spears' video did it... oh well. it's interesting. check it out!

Once upon a time...
there lived a couple of idiots who decided to plague the world by writing up all their scientifici discoveries.
and thus the thesis was born.
and with more pple writing about random discoveries, the smart asses decide to REVIEW each others work.
and with the dawn of the science age and electronic era blah blah, they decided to publish JOURNAL ARTICLES.
and then someone thought it'd be nice to make poor university students suffer by making THEM do the research and crap.
and eventually, mid-2007 came around, with one sad girl slogging in front of her laptop, cursing random pieces of papering littering her desk and floor and her inability to stay away from (very well-written) fanfic. with an article looming over her head of course. and as fate will have it, it's not the last article she'll be writing for the next year.

or so goes the story of my life currently. *bangs head on table* i swear i'm seriously shedding over this... i was picking hair off my desk and jacket in the lab today as i struggled to stay awake and highlight randomly... sigh
supervisor meeting tmr... wait, i dunno where i'm supposed to meet him. -_-" i shall ring him at 9.45. since it'll take me abt the same time to get to the cafe and the lab. oh the wonderfulness of living near uni bwahaha.
can anyone tell that i've gotten into the swing of writing again? i noticed that previously, when we had to do assignments and stuff, the more i write (and also the more desperate i get) the more sarcastic i get in my viewpoints. that or more flowery. depends on how pissed off i am with the topic. but surprisingly, i'm enjoying myself still. sort of. the toxins are a pain but not as bad as statistics. so yes, i'm hanging on but i'd still like to set a few of those academics from cneturies past on fire just to watch them running ard screaming and trying to put their robes out. XD now wouldn't THAT be fun? in fact, waku and i were planning a pyromaniac party a couple of hours ago. all we needed was an amy chi with her trusty lighter and someone to bail her out of jail after. hahahahaha.
i digress. i goes back to typing and waffling. go me! *waves own fanclub banners* (yes, i have my own fanclub. i just haven't pulled it out of cold storage for the past couple of years... oh well. nothing better than a fan club to stoke the ego a la atobe-sama. *dies laughing*)

Fanfiction - the bane of my existence
SIGH. harry potter fanfic is too damn addictive.... i've suddenly renewed my acquaintance with ffnet over the weekend... not good
in other better news, i've started on my lit review. the bad news in that? i've only JUST started. as in 1h ago. *head desk* and i haven't even finished reading all teh articles yet... i figured that the way i'm going, i might as well read and type at the same time... and the strangest thing is that, i'm currently enjoying myself!! *falls down* not very smart considering i'll have to wibble off to bed soon, but it's good that i'm having fun. may i STILL be having fun writing the damn thing when it gets to the drier parts. -_-"
thinking of telling supervisor that since there's a talk on how to write and research articles on fri, is it ok to give him my lit review next week instead? yanno, benefit from the sessions etc... i dunno, does it sound like i'm slacking off? maybe it does. -_-" OH WELL. see how. i think i'm only popping into the lab to say hi tmr, cos we've got morning lectures... so i can wander into the lab to ask where the meeting for tues will be held and then poof back home to do work... sounds good? maybe? i hope so. BLEH
and once again i'm bashing my brains out over WHY i get so easily sidetracked and tempted although i keep telling myself that i'm not going to procastinate again. or read fic when i shouldn't (butbutbut GUNDAM WING and HP crossovers are entertaining! heck, anything with duo in it is crack. that guy exudes crack vibes just by being in the scene. -_-") in other words PREASE TO DISCIPLINE SELF!!! *smacks self across head* i think i need someone standing behind me with an electric cattle prod so that everytime i get distracted i can get zapped back into reality. imagine how much i could acocmplish that way. Denial. Again.
in other news, i was at home all day today, well i went to the lab first. but guess wat? there was noone there. except ken. so i decided to tell him i'd be in the library all day doing research. and i was in the library. for 15 min. then i gave up cos there weren't any computers with internet access free (how to find articles!) so i went home and er... slept. ^_^"
woke up and stoned... cooked dinner... wondering whether i shud cook lunch for tmr? maybe not... can't be stuffed... but i might cook curry chicken for my lunch on fri... otherwise i'll have leftover meat again if i go market on sat. hmm.
DESUDESUDESU. is re-reading the 'harry and draco form a rock band' crack-fic that either ning or amy sent me a long time ago. and eating dinner. and d/ling ep 3 of hanakimi... LALING~! you is invited over for hanakimi party sometime next week when the damn lit review is out of my way. guess who doesn't have a weekend anymore? nope, i'll be deperately waffling something up. sigh. i suddenly find myself craving for PBLs, tests and exams now. bleh. but i think it'll get better when the actualy experimentation starts. hopefully. i really hate doing reading. so dry. looks like i'll only be half a researcher, unless i can overcome this unwillingness to do reading. ^_^" and this is where i'm glad i'm not in the normal degrees where you have to do research to get honours, cos i think i'd be bashing my brains out ^_^" *pats the waku* laling you smart desu!

End of the pseudo-holiday
SIGH. yesh. i have finally come to the realization that i shold be doing the damn lit review instead of putting it off. wow. took me only a week to figure it out. but then again, supervisor expects it next week so. hmmmm.
today... had supervisor meeting at 10. he asked how's progress, so i said i had 10 articles and i'd read abt 5. (i went back and counted, i actually had almost 20. darn. make myself look bad) and he had this 'hmmmm... tsk tsk' look and he told me that i better start speeding up the production speed. *cries* ran wasn't at the lab today. apparently he's sick.
secretly, i think he's at home reading harry potter. pat was there, she's getting sick too, so maybe he wasn't faking? oh well. ya. she went to meet him for lunch, said that she was going to come back. guess who never came back??? -_-" so i was all alone in the main lab today. *cries* feel the BOREDOM and the PAIN. cos i don't have a computer, and i was waiting and waiting to see if she was coming back. i figured at 3 that she wasn't, so i moved over to use her computer. SIGH.
met char and some others for lunch where i proceeded to moan and groan and whine to them... their lucky, they got plenty of company... waaaah!!!! *wallows in self-pity* well, i was actually planning to ask pat if she wanted lunch, but she ran off to ran (pun pun!) before i could. oh well. may they have had fun wherever.
yes, so i read many journal articles, still need to find more. and find out the password to the other computer, which i managed to plug in. then i can start typing up the lit review soon. it's so stupid, they want us to go to the lab, but half the articles i want aren't even online!!! grrr... oh well, i guess it means many coffee breaks running to the library. hahaha... ya. if i can't figure out a way to solve that problem on thurs, i'll bring in my laptop on fri. desu.
sigh. ok. i really should stop whining. some of the articles are actually really interesting, but the thought of making them into a lit review... *cries* and supervisor-san expects 40 articles *dies* liek someone prease to kill me with a... i dunno. harry potter book or smthg. then i can die happy. XD tee hee.
oh and erm... i was writing snippets of fic while stoning in the lab after lunch. XD so looks like i'm going to end up writing the angst fic after all. SIGH. is depressing. lalala
ok. shall go finish dinner now... teriyaki chicken and mushroom soba. sounds yummier than it looks, i think it's the noodles, they weren't very good quality, but my skill at cooking teriyaki chicken has improved. *pleased* *hides bottle of instant marinade* hahahaha. and after dinner it'll be back to finding articles. looks like i'll have to do it at home and leave the reading for the lab since i can't exactly get to the computer unless both of them don't come tmr... or unless i use my supervisor's com? i think he's not coming in tmr... see how, if no free computers i'll just use his. la la
and everyone (including mum) is telling me that borders ripped me off. WAAAAAAAH!!! *cries* watch me sit int he corner and sulk now. sniff.

Giving into temptation
i bought the last book today. *headdesk* and i blame tim for instigating me. hahahaha. j/k. XD
well, it was selling for 30AUD instead of 50 (i think) therefore after conversion is still cheaper than back home? i think? ^_^"
today was muchly boring. welcome lecture.. welcome tea... stoning at journal articles while the lovebirds were chatting on the other side of the lab. i opted to sit next to my supervisor, so they have the tables on teh other side of the partition... otherwise i feel like i spoiling their 'two pple world' like that. XD so imagine how i felt during lunch... can't ask them if i can go lunch with them wat right? -_-" ya... so was wandering ard campus nibbling sushi. wanted to buy a card to send to deb's parents, but nothing suitable in union house... i mean, seriously, it's not very appropriate to send them a card with students in the graduation gowns for example right??? -_-"
after lunch was a talk on lab safety. speaking of which i need to fill up the quiz and hand it in. sigh. it was BORING. didn't help there's only 8 of us, and i was falling asleep. hahaha. ya... after that i FINALLY got the key to the hallway, so i don't have to ring roger every morning to get into the lab. XD ya... after that i kind of coughranawaycough. *angelic look* was camping out in the SCRC with the aims of searching for papers... of course, i had to log into msn and then i spent the next hour chatting to kevin and tim and basically not doing anything *falls down*
as a result of all that chatting, it was decided that i'd meet up with tim and we could go buy groceries together... and we went lygon safeway. and there's a borders there. AND THE BOOK WAS ON DISPLAY *head desk* ya... so we went downstairs to safeway where we stocked up on junk food, he attempted to buy real food but forgot half of it (HAHAHA) and then had a very long and crack-filled and confusingly enlightening discussion on why i don't like guys to carry my bags or pay for my food unless it's really heavy lifting like moving and stuff. conclusion we came to is that i'm wierd. XD
ya. so finished groceries... got detoured into borders again adn bought the book. sigh. oh well. at l east i'll be very well-occupied during lunch for the next few weeks or so. if the whole series lasts that long. and after i finish that, it'll be lord of the rings keeping me company, followed by jodi picoult's book (which i haven't bought yet) and most prob the black jewels trilogy (yes. AGAIN) if i haven't bought new books by then. hahaha
hm... perch fish is yummy. maybe i'll buy that instead of dory from now on... it's juicier. shall see which is cheaper, duck fish, perch or dory. when i told sis that i was eating perch, she asked me if i was attempting to be a bird. =.=
oh well. time to go finish dinner. and then shower. and then... BWAHAHHA!!! oh no wait, must do some work... supervisor meeting tmr desu. waaaaaaaaaah

erm, i'm off to read the book again. and of course, now i feel tempted to read the entire series -_-" and i bet that when i get my hands on teh paperback of DH, i'm going to read EVERYTHING again. -_-"
yay for ams year.
and now i've got plot bunnies hopping in my head. like omg. i want to write harry potter fanfic how much worse can i get. -_-"
thinking of doing a short fic abt the twins... becos i'm muchly pissed with the book and the movie. so i decided that they need some more love. XD haha. see how. if that bunny is still hopping madly after i finish reading.
and of all the strange and TOOT plunnies to have, i feel like writing snape pov. SNAPE. *dies* looks like i turned out to be a snape fangirl after all. hahaha, deborah would be proud. (especially since i forced ning to read and entire website full of snarry fics. BWHAHAAH my powers of corruption GROWS!!)
anyway. off to read. i highlighted a few journal articles... so if my supervisor asks wth i was doing over teh weekend, i can truthfully say that i did some work but spent most of the time reading harry potter. hahaha. speaking of which, i need to go check wat time and where the pharmacology lectures are tmr... la la la.

Me: *dies laughing*but unfortunately, the rest fo the movie was only so-so. prob cos it's quite impossible to summarise the entire book into 2h... but still! they cut out my fav part ie: where peeves and the twins start pranking the school!!! ><>UST angst.
(i swear i saw some puppy!love and snarry in the movie, omg i need to go cleanse my brain) and sorry ron, but you are kinda...
ugly un-cute. and draco's not cute anymore. *cries* oh well, may they sort out his hair by the next movie, cos it looks quite bad now. and there's not enough of tonks in the movie! altho i agree with teh amy-chan, the girl casted as tonks is very suitable. funky hair by the way. hahaha. and there's not enough lupin in there! they totally cut out his role. which is teh sad. sigh. oh well. it was entertaining, but i wouldn't pay to watch it again.
and by the way, if anyone spoilers me for deathly hallows,
i will kill you. tho it's preety impossible to remain unspoilered till the paper back comes out, but considering that i managed to remain that way before diving into the fandom in march, who knows ne? XD hahaha
anyway, am currently waiting for the dryers to free up. so irritating, i forgot that saturday is a bad day for laundry. well, it's no problem getting a washer, but everyone leaves their clothes in the dryers!!! grrr... and i don't think it's college policy here where you just open the dryer and chuck out the other person's clothes... so now i've got a big bag of wet laundry sitting on my floor, and i better be able to get a dryer by tonite otherwise i've no towels or sheets!!! bleeeeh.
finally got round to listening to the j-rock cd that xx burnt for the ning da's b'day a loooooong time ago and which i ripped. so i'm currently working thru all the luna sea on that. and i think l'arc~en~ciel is next, then X japan... and i've this sudden urge to go buy gackt cds. someone prease to STOP me desu. *head desk*
oh, and i finally rang my supervisor yesterday, so i sort of know wat to do for my lit review now. ^_^" was quite funny, cos apparently he was looking for me except he didn't have my contact (why didn't he ask the unit co-ordinator i wonder) so yesh, i was the MIA student of doom. hahaha. ya. ended up meeting him at garage where he had his lunch and i watched cos i'd just eaten. and then went back to the lab and met pat and ran and helped clean it up but shifting magazines ard. -_-" then went home to shower and to the studio to watch waku beat the crap out of claudio. hahaha
LA DI DA. en-chan is good girl, cos en-chan going to webcast tonite instead of going for yummy dinner with waku and goddess... cos knowing me, if i put it off till tmr, i prob won't wake up for it. sigh.
ok. shall go and finish my brunch now... think i'll go and check on the dryers at 5? 6? will be muchly irritated if they're still not free... grrrrrr

hahaha. in other words, i suddenly felt like drinking milk so i went to aldi's after dance and lugged a bottle home. needless to say, i froze my fingers off... not very helpful when it's cold out and the bottle just came from the fridge and i had to carry it by the handle cos i wasn't planning to buy anything and therefore didn't bring my carrier bag. -_-" but yes, maple syrup + milk = yummy~! XDXD
today... productive. well. i kind of overslept by a lot in the morning. -_-" so i only rolled to the library at abt 1.30pm... but i managed to hunt down quite a few books (most of which were in the basement = OLD OLD OOOOOLD) and photocopied stuff, so it's all good... i never spent so much on photocopying before, but then again i'm cheapo. but then again, i'm not cheapo enough to check out ALL the books just to bring them to the cheap photocopy shop... or sneak upstairs to pharmacology to use the machine. XD tee hee.
yup, so managed to get a few articles and stuff. then met up with tim, deva and kah lip and proceeded to moan and groan and bitch and whine to them abt how i didn't know wat's going on. conclusion is that i'm going to e-mail roger after this to ask wat the heck i'm supposed to do and also hint that i can't find articles and can he spoon feed me a little. kkekeke. ahem. (omg, that laugh sounds vaguely like the one lyd uses in her mails to me... speaking of which i think it's time i e-mailed her to pester her abt nothing. hahaha)
dance after that was fun. tyson is mad, he was sick on mon cos he did 18 shows over the weekend! crazy guy. but still on as much crack as usual. we're not doing the august medal after all. will be doing the october one. he was trying to convince me to do the comp next week, but me is lazy desu~! XD ahahaha. so nope, no comp for me. maybe next time. so we're still doing technique technique and more technique. and hopefully by the end of all that technique my rumba will be powder enough to beat everyone else. hahahaha.
la di da... i'm sleeeeeeeepy. -_-" sigh. oh, and i finally managed to get hold of the '300' OST. XD it's vaguely like the 'alexander' one, which is good. except it's a little more rock, which is also good. hai hai. so en-chan has new music of doom~! XD too bad i still can't d/l all the nightwish albums.. there's a site but the speed is super slow and the file keeps hanging, so guess i'm not fated desu. bleh.

one of my latest addictions, together with 'Exodus 04' off the same album. it's got a catchy beat. and it's one of the decent songs off her english album. bleh. the company that produced that for her ought to be shot, they make her sound so trashy. given that this was 3 years ago, but STILL.
and anyway, why couldn't they have release 'devil inside' and 'exodus 04' as her singles instead of that stupid stupid cliche trashy song 'easy breezy' and 'you make me want to be a man'? granted, the vidoe for the 2nd song was pretty cool, but i think that it was a bad choice. bleh. and 'easy breezy', omg. that video was BAD. cos she hardly puts on really heavy maekup, but in that vidoe they made her look like a SPG... and it was quite bad... sigh.

just finished the manga... wahh... the ending is so rushed!! no fun!! i ♥ akiha-san cos he muchly stalks the umeda-sensei ard and they are both muchly on crack. Day 1!
i came home after 2h. XDXD hahaha.
well, i got to the lab at 9. thank goodness roger arrived a few min after i did cos ken didn't show till 9.20. anyway, turns out that roger's my supervisor and he's pretty nice so no complaints there. all the pple in the unit are nice, so that's good. he was telling me abt how he'd rather have meetings over coffee cos it's more relaxed and how he has to work very hard in the office cos his desk is right outside ken's office and ken can see everything he's doing when he walks past. *lol* so yup, we spent our first meeting running ard photocopying stuff for me and drinking coffee. oh and we visited the animal house too.
turns out that i'll have to handle the scorpions... a bit apprehensive abt that, but hey, it's a good experience (can i just say thank God i'm not doing snake venom... i think snake's are scarier somehow) and i got to hold a dead scorpion. well, not hold really. roger asked me if i minded touching them, and when i said no he put it on my fingers and i just froze there. ^_^" hai, but i guess it'll all be fine cos if i freak out too much he'll do that venom collection for me. he's testing out the apparatus before he teaches me, cos he's never done it before, so may the little scorpions not get blown up by accident in our enthusiasm to get my paper published. XD we also might try breeding crickets to feed the scorpions, so looks like en-chan's insect and creepy crawly phobia might be cured by the end of the ams year. ^_^" haha. he asked if i wanted to go on field trips with him to catch the scorpions and i was like, "er... maybe not, i'd probably be screaming half the time." but ran's game to go with him, so no complaints there. XD
so anyway, i got home early and i'll get to work from home (or the library if i really have to go there) doing my literature review... not very clear abt wat exactly i should be doing, but oh well, i shall jsut google and search pubmed etc and churn out smthg decent. i'll start tmr. today is slacking day. mwahahaha. XD whee~! hanakimi manga is crack desu~!
just rang the studio to book lesson with the tyson... he's sick, poor thing. brad answered the phone and he didn't realised it was me. hahaha. so i'm set for thurs at 5.i wonder if i'll be able to make it in time for the august medal. if not then oh well.

gah... it's the end of the weekend... sobsob. got to report to the lab tmr to start research... *throws tantrum* meeeeeeoooooooooooooooooooow!!!!
as proof of how much i've been on holiday this week, let's just say that i was up till 5 yesterday reading fic and watching youtube videos courtesy of ning.... wah, ko-chan and tsuyo are on crack!!! was watching clips from doumoto kyoudai, esp those with gackt in them, and the conclusion is that gackt is on silent but deadly crack and has very scary underwear. *traumatised* whoever produced heyheyhey and decided to make him do show and tell with his underwear seriously needs help. *goes to scrub eyes* there was another talkshow where they managed to dig up his high sch photo, and omg, he looked normal!!! so i think he didn't go for plastic surgery, therefore it is amazing wat hairdye and coloured contacts can do for you.
hai desu, back to gackt-sama, there was one really funny clip where ko-chan and tsuyo were chatting with this actress on their show, and she was talking abt how she once called in the fire brigade (and the police came along too) becos she heard a kitten stuck in a drainpipe or smthg like that. then suddenly, gackt twitched off his chair and grabbed ko-chan's shoulder (he was sitting behind ko-chan) and everyone jumped cos they thot it was a ghost story. turned out that gackt had a leg cramp. *falls down* and i was thinking, well, if he wear tight leather pants (and his scary underwear *dies*) it's no surprise that his leg cramped. XDXDXD
anyway, ko-chan and tsuyo have their own share of crack too, ning da sent me a video where they were trying to scare both of them and somehow an emu got invovled?? *rofl* the conclusion is that tsuyo is a scaredy cat and ko-chan probably got used to it so he doesn't react as much now. oh well. xDXD
oh well. i should go and do... watever. the journal articles are still sitting on my desk going sha la la at me. -_-" DENIAL DESU~! maybe i'll watch tsuba-con. hahaha bye~!

Back to the dark side
i've officially corrupted my laptop. i just installed BT and now i'm running the hanadan finale torrent. *headdesk* so katkat i'll burn it/transfer to you when it's done. which will hopefully be tonite, then maybe ning and i can marathon it after dinner. hahaha. i swear we (or rather i) drank australia into a drought last nite/this morning cos we were laughing and chatting thru most of the episodes (except at the end when we just got too stoned and during hanakimi cos need to focus on the chinese subs) and eating too many doughnuts. XD hahaha.
anyway, sars is doing hanakimi! yay for good quality english subs! altho i was pretty impressed that i understood most of the chinese yesterday. is proud of self. hahaha
waiting for the ning da to come over for pancakes now... i think she overslept... or else got caught in the rain. haha. oh well. we can always eat them for supper or smthg. haha. i'll ring her if she's not here by 4-ish. considering that we're supposed to meet eunice at 6 i don't think we're going to get much done. XD lalala
anyway, yesterday's lab course was fun. it was nice and short. we ran a restriction enzyme assay. so we digested teh plasmids that we extracted on tues and then ran a gel. i got pretty ok results so is pleased. XD rang dimia in the afternoon to fine out wat exactly happened with application. turned out that hte operator couldn't find me in teh system so she said to e-mail them. grr... in the end i went to the office in person, cos we ended early enough. Q-d for almost 1h just to find out that i AM on the system, but not on my computer. *falls down* stupid dimia. grrr.
yuppos, so that abt it, ning just msg to say she was going to be late. hahaha. shall go and start hanakimi manga maybe? the drama is soooo funny! like i haven't watched anything this crack since... i dunno, kurosagi perhaps. except it's different types of crack. haha. btw katkat, it's got your darling oguri shun in it. XD although the plot is vaguely dodgy at times... maybe i'll corrupt you. hahaha

PCR and electrophoresis!!
are muchly fun things to do. partly because there's so much waiting time involved btwn steps that we can just hang ard chatting.
so today we did those... it was fun loading the wells too. i finally know why the sample doesn't float back out of the well into the water/buffer ard the gel. becos there's glycerol in the test mixture. so it doesn't mix and it stays in the well. XD anyway, i managed to get pretty good results. XD yay~! my PCR was near perfect, but i came in 3rd place cos i had trace impurities present... the other 2 had prefect results. oh well. it's fun though. one girl loaded all her tubes wrong so all her sample had the same band in them. we were laughing and trying to figure that one out together.
ran down to the bank during lunch. didn't know that there was one on russel street. oh well. now i know. need to call dimia tmr... my transaction doesn't seem to exist for watever strange and obscure reason. grrrr....
finished watching ouran. thinking whether i want to start meine liebe now, or read manga... need to check my manga disc so will prob be reading flame of recca... or maybe i shud just read hanakimi first? since i've been freeing up quite a lot of space on my hard drive and it doesn't really matter if i don;t delete the burnt manga anytime soon... hmm... shall think abt it later.
late start tmr! sort of. 30min later. since we're only doing restriction enzymes and won't need to do much. the plan is to set up the samples and then leave it to incubate for an hour while we have early lunch, then we'll run the gel and wait a while, then we'll be done with teh lab course. pity tho, it's a really fun course. and the rest of the pple doing it are really nice too. the indonesians are crazy. i'm corrupting claudia to more manga... cos i told her that i got all teh bleach adn naruto releases, so she passed me her hard drive today to top up her collection, and i threw in lots of other manga while i was at it. XD she goes for the pretty drawings, but is anti-shoujo manga which is entertaining. so i'm giving her all my CLAMP stuff and angel sanc, trinity blood, vampire cross (i think that's the title?), vampire knight, RK, FoR, death note, gintama, d.gray-man and charisma doll. think i've got a few mroe but i don't remember. oh well. may she have fun reading. she's the one in pathology, so i warned her that if i get abandoned by the rest of the world during lunch i'm going to drag her ard. hahaha
hmm... i managed to burn the back of my middle finger while cooking... not very smart. i think i dropped a piece of mushroom or smthg on the stove and went to pick it up while stirring the pot with my right hand... so i accidentally touched my knuckle to the pot... so now it's kinda sore... how stupid. but i'm glad that it wasn't more serious or spectacular like mag spilling an entire pot of water down her leg. ^_^" so that's my first cooking accident, or rather, incident, this year. may it be the last for many more years to come.
ok. shall go and bum ard now. still haven't read any journal articles for next week, but it'll keep for the weekend or smthg. marathoning hanadan with ning tmr... need to get last ep from katkat... maybe if i end early tmr? if she's in that is... oh wait, fri is teaching day... hmm, some other day i guess... and ning da's d/ling hanakimi so yay for toma goodness and cuteness. XD i miss toma... but then again, i'm preetty much over my JE craze now. ahahaa. not really obsessing over anything. altho that might change when i finally get round to reading LotR or watching new anime. i've got quite a lot of stuff ot entertain myself with haha.

Plasmidification
gr... is irritated. got off early fromt eh lab today, so i dashed to the city to bank in my draft... got there 7min after the bank closed. so of course the security officers wouldn't let me in. decided to try my lkuck up at uni, so i ran for the tram and got on after the woman who pressed the button for the doors to open. i dunno if hte driver didn't see me (hello, black jacket against a white background), but as i was getting on the doors slammed shut into my shoulder. OUCH. then i got to uni to find that the bank was closed as well. grrr. means i'll have to wake up early to get it done tmr morning... irritated.
anyway. we did plasmid extraction today. quite fun. quite slack in fact, cos half the time was spent waiting for stuff to centrifuge or stand ard to incubate. so we were in the tearoom half the time eating cake and reading gossip mags. XD tee hee. i really need to brush up on my mental sums too. it took me 30sec to figure out that 150 is 100x of 1.5. -_-" well, the numbers weren't exactly in that order, but anyway, i think i've convinced the magda (the demontstrator) that i need my calculator to survive. hahaha. sumple addition and subtraction can.... the rest... will take much longer. XD
just checked the dimia site... why is it that they say my transaction ref no doesn't exist?!?! like wtf??? if it still doesn't work by tmr, i'm going to bang table... cos i've got a receipt for my payment and i swear the details are correct... grrr... stupid thing.

la la, yup, first day of lab techniques. all hail my nemesis, molar calculations. didn't help that they were trying to explain just as my eyelids were drooping for the pre-lunch nap. XD thank goodness for ms goh drumming the units into my head, even if i never mastered the art of calculating all teh crap they gave us in JC... but ya. hopefully i'll get back to speed with my calculations. it's taking embarrassingly long to calculate the simplest things now... i maanged to complicate stuff too... much to the amusement of the 4th yr guy who was helping out before starting clinicals next week.
i finally met ran, he's very excited and all geared up for research. vs me who is still going sha la la. haha... turns out that he'll prob be at the lab at RCH most of the time, and pat will be the one staying in the lab at uni. and anyway, there's a few exchagne students from indonesia, one of them will be in pathology and she's pretty nice (ie: mad) so i'll prob get her phone no and we can have lunch together in case we both get abandoned by whoever. haha
just received permission to work from uni so will go apply for the visa later. then need to contact teh DLU... and hopefully they won't want a nice long CV. haha...

Back to uni
whee! is back in melb. enjoying the nice cold weather after a month of geting baked and humdified and muchly grossed by the weather back home and in NY.
had a cleaning spree, washed the sheets and everything. so cute, the CG pple who borrowed my place for their honeymoon (cos they had 2 days in btwn the tours where they had no accomodation) arranged my stuffed toys such that jin-chan was hugging bruno the dog. bruno the bear went globe trotting with me... he is a muchly well-travelled bear, been to more or less every continent.
anyway, went to market also. my feeling got cheated... sunday market has so little food!! there egg stall wasnt there, so i didn't buy any in the end cos too lazy to walkt o safeway altho i was kinda feeling like cooking an omelette... oh well. and then all the sausage shops were closed too when i decided i wanted to fry sausages for lunch!! and the bread shop with teh yummy fruit buns also closed. meow. so now i'm eating peanut butter and nutella sandwiches... sniff sniff.. oh, and i bought my usual dory fillets for dinner, except the guy got a bit enthusiastic choosing the fillets for me, he gave me this HUGE piece which i'm going to need to cut up otherwise it'll never fit into my pot. hahaha
been exchanging muchly crack sms with the ning da... we've decided to watch hanadan together, so kat kat i'm coming to get the last ep from you someday soon!! hahaha...

too happy... she made the ends of my right eyebrow too thin... i almost flipped when i sneaked a peek in the mirror and then i told her that i didn't want it too thin (a little too late) so she didn't make the left as bad, but she had to fill int he blanks with a pencil. -_-" oh well. comforting fact is that it'll all grow back. and my hair now doth not resemble a lion's mane, hahaha. except i'm going to have trouble tying it neatly for a while. if i tie a ponytail, my fringe flies everywhere. if i tie my fringe i can't tie the botttom part. -_-" oh well. the trails of keeping long hair again. haha.
going to buyt eh rest of the toiletries and stuff later, still can't believe i'm leaving tmr... doesn't seem as kan cheong as previous times haha. la di da... hunted down journal articles and stuff too... need to read them before going into the lab next fri... must ask ken wat tiem i'm expected to be there.. i hope it won't be lonely during lunch... like when i was working and ate lunch by myself everyday. if that's not sad i don't know wat is. if i get to do the whole 'get there late and leave early' thing, i might just live on brunch and early dinner and scrap lunch. lala. dunno.

discussion as to why i wasn't allowed to d/l with dad as 'for' and mum 'against'. needless to say, dad changed his mind pretty quick after i explained the whole thing to him. XD la la la la.
kiao and i decided to ditch the class gathering and have our own 2 person class gathering. XD cos yanno, holland v is so damn far away and i'm feeling anti-social. XD altho it would have been nice to see the other girls. apparently this IS a class gathering, unlike the last dinner with JH which was miserable to say the least, in terms of numbers, not teasing. XD hahaha. yup, so we're meeting at city hall at 7. the plan is that if we;ve got nothig to talk abt, we'll watch a movie, but then, this is me the chatterbox we're talking abt here (pun not intended) so i think we'll end up sitting somewhere in city link for dinner and chatting till closing. hahaha
ning da, your parents still haven't called me yet.... they do know that i'm leaving sat nite right??? oh well, maybe i'll ring them or smthg if they still haven't called me by tonite.... it would be funny if they've been desperately ringing my landline and we've just been happily ignoring all the calls. hahaha. i think we really should get caller id... we couldn't last time because we had 2 lines or smthg, but i dunno whether we can now that we've cancelled the extra line.
sigh. going back on sat... the only thing i'm really looking forward to is the weather and the crack... i'm kinda glad i wasn't home much longer this time, adn that i went to NY in btwn... it would have been far too lonely otherwise. cos lyd's in sydney, ning da didn't come home and deborah's not here to drag me out twice a week anymore.... hopefully summer hols will be less depressing.
okies. i goes and paints my nails. and i still need to decide wat to wear to the ROM on sat... la la.... and pack away my playstation. and finish reading my anne of green gables series. i was reading 'anne of windy poplars' where she writes all those letters to gilbert... and i couldn't help thinking that poor gilbert must want to strangle her sometimes cos she talks so much. XD hahaha, interesting how the perspective changes after i haven't read it in years. XD but ya, i finally understand the jokes and i think they're a really sweet couple. tooth decay inducingly sweet. hahaha. okies. i poofs. be good everyone!

Transformers!
whee!! muchly cool movie, 2 thumbs up from me! the CGI are REALLY good, probably thanks to steven spielberg. it's really cool and amazing how they managed to capture every detail when the autobots transform. only complaint is that sometimes the action happens to fast and all you see is a mess and blur of metal and lots of explosions. then again, that could be due to the fact that we were seated 3 rows from the front. -_-" but yes, great movie, lots of crack in there.
fantastic 4 was... so-so in comparision. and in case anyone's wondering, me and mum went on a movie marathon yesterday. XD dad almost fainted when he found out wat we were planning to do when we invited him along... said he wouldn't be able to take sitting thru 2 movies at a stretch... but in the end he couldn't come for transformers too cos he had to go to the podiatrist and the seats for teh later show sucked as well so we went ahead with the earlier one.
anyway, i think i'm supposed to meet teh 73 guys for dinner. i think. as in, they're meeting at holland v is is damn far from home (heck i don't even remember how to get there) and i'm now trying to convince da jie to go with me cos i was plannign to meet her tmr, but if she goess it'll be 2 birds with 1 stone and i won't be the only girl there... cos i know that if i go alone, fct and chiken are going to gang up against me. -_-" lala. i'll call da jie later tonite... then i'll have to contact one of the guys... cos i didn't reply chiken's msg last ntie and fct miss-called me just now cos i was upstairs reading in sis room... she's on MC today, got eye infection again. i told her she shouldn't wear her contacts but she's too vain. hahahaha.
anyway, need to go and e-mail uni and ask why the heck my fees are increased by almost 50 % next sem. it's insane. i almost had a heart attack when the bill came... and mine's bi-semesterly payment, so the increase was by 5K, i can imagine how mag must have felt when she saw the increase for 10K since she pays bi-annually!!! hahahah, stupid uni... kertok-ing us international students... mr veggie have i ever told you how much i hate you for being a PR? ahahaha. kidding.
the e-mail went out to all teh pple taking the lab techniques course already, they reminded us to tie up our hair, made me think of mrs wei's speech in sec 2 abt how she was going to stand and laugh at us if we set our hair on fire by accident... hahaha. ya, but i still have no idea who else will be doing that course... i really hope i can get along with pat and ran... cos i'll be sharing the lab with them... i mean, given teh fact that their hands are practically glued onto each other, i'll feel like i'm playing gooseberry half the time. i think it's more likely i'll spend more time with ran than pat, cos ran's doing lab work and then he'll be shuttling btwn the lab and the children's, whereas pat will be doing epidemiology so i've no idea where she will be half the time. i'll prob be in the lab all the time, or else terrorising one of the pharmacology labs down the corridor. i dunno. everyone else is so far away! meow... must go out for lunch with me ok pples?? char has promised to eat with me sometimes cos she's at the womens... i'll go pester zhuanster sometime too i guess. i think there's a canteen over at RMH?? la la la. if not i'll be making peanut butter and nutella sandwiches everyday until i can like recite the ingredients off the jar by heart hahahaha.
okies. shallg o and surf now.. so much fic to read but don't feel like reading here... too hot. shall go and pester someone or laze on sis or mum's bed... can't wait to go back to winter, but all the same i don't realyl want to go back, i'm glad there;s not as much studying but i really hope that the project will go well, i need some decent grades on my record desu. sigh. oh well.
oh, and btw, sis was asking if i wanted a PSP... cos she saw me banging on teh buttons of my gameboy playing bomberman last nite. she was horrified that i still had it and that it still worked. she thot i'd go blind looking at the screen cos the contrast and reolution isn't that great... meow. it's tempting to say yes i want a psp, cos i bet they'd have pooled together and bought it for my b'day or smthg, but i feel bad, cos they already bought me my mp3 player last year... and i really shouldn't... LA LA LA. oh well. maybe i'll go get a job in melb. (wait, i'm SUPPOSED to get a job. but first i need to apply for the work visa... and laling, how do i apply to work for the DLU? i don't think anything else would be able to fit into my lab scehdule... unless i do waitressing in chinatown with my english-fied chinese and swear-word-hokkien. XD) if i get a job adn earn enough money, maybe, just maybe i'll earn enough to buy a PSP in time for FF7 crisis core??? *wibbles happily in anticipation* see how first.
ok ok. must go find out who to screech at over teh fee hike. nto that i can do anything but pay but you know, i want to know why all my parents money is suddenly flying out the window faster than i can ea sugar. XD bye!
