Screwed up eating habits -__-"

brekkie at 10.30...

went to lab and slacked ard. supervisor showed up for 2h and then disappeared. so i decided to disappear at 3.20.

went to find mr veggie cos he said he had cake. XD hehehe, stoned pple are fun to babble at. cos they just can't process the barrage of random nonsense coming out my mouth. XD and i think at one point of time i was trying to convince him that a prospective study on the inner workings of my psycho mind would work altho i'd be the only sample, becos i'm random enough to override the other required randoms. (like randomized control trials etc). XD and not to mention, i almost got bulldozed by a very enthu guy with a vacuum cleaner who was vacuuming the corridor when i got out of the lift. -_-"

and then i (sort of) learnt how to deep fry sotong balls. ("when deep frying, remember not to burn the food! *fishes out a very brown sotong ball* ok. well. now you know.") XD and i had to explain why, altho i'm 3/4 peranakan, i eat curry and asam but not chilli. -_-" so there's one more enlightened person in teh universe. XD and i corrupted his computer with ruroken manga. *peace sign* and on the way home i was trying to convince him that since he cooks better than me, i shud visit him bearing raw meat next time and i won't ever need to settle dinner again since his place is on the way home from uni. XD bwahaha

then i came home and stoned. and dug up lyd's e-mail with her fic recs. bwahahaha. i need to reply it soon... we is good procrastinators. lol. i wonder if she's going to send me a crazy e-mail for my b'day again this year. i remember last year's, i printed it out cos i was stressed over neuroscience and everytime i wanted to pull my hair out i'd read it and laugh. XD can't wait for summer hols! she'll be back home... can make earrings~ and corrupt each other... and go shopping. mwahahaha. if i ever need someone to blame for my randomness and corniness (besides my family) i'd blame her. and her brothers -_-"

speaking of my family, my daddy muchly evil!!! he scared me on tues when he was talking to me... halfway thru the convie he suddenlt went "so, wat's this i hear abt you having a boyfren?" and i was like "huh? wat? since when i got boyfren!" and i was thinking "oh no, don't tell me that mum was really serious abt matchmaking me to my bro-in-law's fren!!!!" (that's a... story for another day. i still dunno if they're serious or not. but if they ARE serious, he's loaded. mwahah. PS3~! ahem) turned out that mum told him abt the stupid guy at the meat stall in vic mart... the one who was hitting on me and waku and then messed up my orders -_-" ya... well. glad that my (lack of) lovelife amuses my family so much. *cries*

and my sister says that my dad is getting confused. apparently he called me a boy the other day. -_-" why am i not surprised. he used to call us all the wrong names, esp when my sisters were studying in UK. he'd call me by their names and i'd be like "... ... i'm NOT so-and-so!!!" lol. ah well. it's entertaining. esp when he gets tongue tied and renames my bro-in-law 'ester' instead of 'lester' and calls him a 'she'. XD the perils of living in a totally female envt. XD hahahaha

ok. shall go and heat up my lunch to eat as dinner... then if i'm hungry later i think i'll make chicken porridge? yup... okies. dinner~! XD

Jap curry <3~!

yummmmmmm. XD hehehe... but i think i put a bit too much paste in? hmm. dunno. but oh well. it tastes muchly nice (or maybe i've just been deprived of MSG. assuming there's MSG in the mix) have an extra portion which i'll eat for lunch on fri.

and erm. ya. another week has gone by where i haven't fulfilled my reoslution to show up at the lab every single day. *whistles* i had a nice long debate with myself at 10.15 this morning thru to 10.30, then gave up and went back to sleep. hence i'm now a very well-slept person. ^_^" then char rang me at 1.30 and she was like "... ... you're at home aren't you."

*jams halo on and looks innocent*

yes but anyway. i swear i'm doing work... sort of. *looks at pile of journal articles that are still unread* well. i'm getting round to that. XD

ok. i goes to finish my yummy curry. XD guess who now has a new fav dish to cook. that isn't meatball, salt-less porridge. lol. and yes, i still don't have salt. i figured that cooking porridge with soy sauce and oyster sauce seems to be working fine so far so i don't really care. whee~

All Clear~!

lol. yes. supervisor-san has left for the day... and he said that he's not coming in tmr morning and only MIGHT be coming in during the afternoon... can anyone tell that i'm tempted to skive off and not turn up again tmr? XD lol. bad en-chan... oh well. guess i shud at least come if only to pretend to do work. cos i don't do anything when i stay at home. -_-"

so far i've amassed 4 journal articles. not bad. considering that earlier on i was pretending to read hard copies but actually napping with my head propped on my hand. hahaha. so will finish digging thru allt he articles that were pulled up in my search, then print those that look promising (free laser printing~!) and then go home for lunch., once again, i've lugged my lunchbox all the way here for nothing. ah well.

according to mr veggie, there's a lunar eclipse tonite. too bad not in jch anymore, otherwise all i'd have to do was make a pilgrimage to the 3rd floor and go to the roof... i can't see the moon from my apt (i THINK... never tried looking out the window at night ever since the stupid guy (whom i think has moved out actually) used to watch me doing pbl thru my blinds when it was really hot during summer) so i'd prob have to go out to the street or smthg. if i remember correctly, the best place to see the moon is the patch of empty ground on the way to vic mart. SIGH. hahaha. shall see how desperate i am to see the eclipse. and if i have sufficient motivation to get off my lazy ass. lol.

ok. shall go and finish surfing articles... whee~! shud i make jap curry or beef stew for dinner i wonder... decisions decisions. you know, i kinda pity my family next time (assuming i get married and stuff) cos i have very little creativity when it comes to food. lol. now i know why mum likes cooking one dish wonders. less to wash. XD not like it matters cos we got a dish washer at home, but last i heard it finally broke down after almost 10 years, but i think they should have replaced it by now. whee~!

Another day at the lab

*wibbles ard* stooooooooooooooned.

supervisor meeting this morning... i now know that i'm supposed to be reading and reading and reading journal articles. sigh.. did i ever mention how much i hate searching journal articles? -_-" oh well. i'll survive...

anyway. yesterday was a muchly crack day... i left the lab at abt 3 and went visit mr veggie... who proceeded to feed me tandoori chicken and then demonstrate the power of his speakers. lol. i think little michael's speakers from last year would have some serious competition from them. hahaha... ya. so we spent all afternoon pirating music back and forth... it took me abt 3h to realise that i actually had my laptop with me and could give him the songs he wanted on the spot instead of e-mailing them. -_-" hehehe. ya... so now i have 1 muse album and britney's first album, which (believe it or not) i've never listened to. haha. ya. and i managed to freak him out with my very extreme taste in music. *innocent look* to qoute him, i have a very wide range of music *insert OMG-my-ears-and-eyeballs-are-going-to-fall-out look* tee hee. well. not like i didn't freak ning and deborah out with my music back when they came over to write THE fic when we were in J1 i think? lol. (and yes, ning, in case you're wondering, THE fic is still stuck at me.)

yup. so i ended up camping and babbling for abt 3.5h... then came home and cooked dinner and finshed reading chamber of secrets... contemplated starting to watch 'my girl', but decided i was too stoned... so ended up reading 'best enemies' which isn't complete... and the author didn't archive anywhere else besides the sit which got deleted. *cries*

ok... supervisor is here. better get cracking. blog more later perhaps~! *poofs to read journals*

guess who just found out that the HoD will be away for 3 weeks? XDXDXD

guess who is almsot confirmed not coming to the lab next mon? XD (cos yanno, if all the supervisors aren't ard, wat's the point. hahahah.

anywa. today i slept in... woke up at 10.15. decided that there was no point getting to the lab before 11.15 since that's abt the time that HoD would usually come. if not then the guy half of the lovebirds usually comes abt 11... cos my supervisor doesn't come in on mon, otherwise he'd have the door open ard 9+ or 10. hehehe

anyway. was reading a really interesting fic last nite... but it's not complete!!! and the silly authoress doesn't tag her LJ and maybe those posts are f-locked... so ya... maybe i'll go and poke thru all her entries (at least 2 years worth!) to see if she has actually written more... sniff sniff. the things i do for my warped brain hahaha.

halfway thru chamber of secrets. yay~ gilderoy lockhart is SUCH an arse. well. maybe cos he's a lockhart and err... i can't stand tifa from ff7. lol if he was a brunette or she was blonde, i'd be tempted to say that irritatingness runs in teh family. XD whee~!

think i'll go home after lunch. not sure if mr veggie is coming to eat lunch with poor lonely me. lol. he was super high last nite/this morning on msn. and i was comparatively sane. my goodness. nice to know that i can be (relatively) sane. hahaha... tempted to go city and eat the viet beef noodles... but i got too much food in the fridge, and i alreayd have the pasta that i took out... unless i eat the pasta for dinner? i dunno. shall see whether he manages to wake up in time for lunch/tea and whether i'm still craving beef noodles... if not i'll drag someone down to the city to eat some other day mwahahaha.

sigh. i have absolutely no idea wat i'm supposed to be doing now... i just finished feeding and watering the scorpions (ya... like plants. i squirt water in the enclosure and watch the crickets hop madly away). i'm getting better at catching crickets without contact. *peace sign* well. i dropped one of them onto the lab floor so i was scurrying after it with the plastic lids. ^_^" but yes. i'm getting good. ph34r me. tee hee. i'm wondering if 1 of the scorpions has died tho... cos there were still quite a few crickets inside.. but i didn't dare stick my hand in to mess ard and try to find it... well. i did lift up a couple of rocks, but didn't see it anyway. my conclusion is that either the scorpion was burrowed somewhere underneath, or else my supervisor lied and there isn't actually a scorpion in that particular tank. -_-" hahaha

ok... shall go and err... surf. don't feel like doing work today. maybe i'll start work again tmr after supervisor meeting... check exactly wat i'm supposed to be doing. whee~!

oh. lyd finally replied my e-mail. nuts as usual. and she linked lots of fic. XD whee~

and ew gross my hands smell of the latex gloves... why is it that when you wear those gloves, you can't get the smell off even after you wash with soap??? should have used the antimicrobial gel... oh well.

edit: riiiight. mr veggie is spamming me on msn... and he hasn't gone to sleep yet. -_-" so i have company for lunch. yay~! lol. my existence now revolves ard slacking, pretending to work and dragging pple to have lunch with me. "Toast?" he asked Hermione, who had opened the copy of the Daily Prophet and was reading the headlines.

"Yes please," she said, flipping the paper over to work on the crossroad puzzle. Harry pulled out two slices of bread and walked over to the toaster.

"Now Toaster," he said, his voice soothing. "I have two slices of bread here. Would you mind terribly -"

"Oh the HUMANITY!" the toaster cried out. "WHY? Why are you so CRUEL? Why do you ask me to TORMENT the innocent BREAD?"

"But the bread isn't alive! It won't feel a thing! Can't you just -"

"So CALLOUS you are. So CRUEL. Can't you be satisfied with EATING it? Ripping it into shreds with your TEETH? Why must you TORTURE it first?"

Harry massaged his temples at his impending headache. "Really, it's just -"

"Oh it's just NOTHING to YOU. You don't FEEL the PAIN! But I do! I feel the bread's pain like my own, and - "

Harry promptly jammed the two slices of bread into the toaster and pressed the lever down.

lol. ok. i goes to cook dinner now... speaking of cooking, i cooked 3 days worth of pasta just now. i feel... impressed. and i think i bought too much meat again. maybe. *eyes all teh plastic bags in the fridge*

oh well. at least i'm actually utilising my sofa and cd player. it's actually pretty comfy to curl up in the living room and read all afternoon until it gets too dark. XD it would be even nicer if the weather was colder. oh well.

incidentally, i think the stuffed figs were yummier than the stiffed apricots i bought today. lala. and the pple at the fish shop recognise me -_-" omg. and the girl at the meat shop knows my orders by heart. *falls down* looks like i'm becoming too predictable lol.

ok. off to guzzle grapes and read fic... whee~!

oh, and if you talk to me on msn and i don't reply or have really long pauses btwn replies, it prob means that i'm busy playing jigsaw on msn games and am trying to beat my time. ^_^" er... ya. la la

BBQ = EVIL

ok. le stoopitt eediotts (note my wonderfully sarcastic attempt at a french accent) are having a BBQ downstairs. even my nightwish blasting is SOFT compared to them yakking. -__-" the only thing i'm grateful for is that they're not blasting techno music. well. not much. and watever songs they're playing aren't as scary as the techno indian music accompanied by over-enthusiastic singing along i had to witness once last sem. -_-"

anyway. presentation today went pretty good actually. a few pple came up to me to tell me i did well on it, so is a happy person. XD although, er... not to sound racist or proud or anything, i think one of the reasons i came across as having done a really good presentation was becos i was the last person and the 2 students before me don't speak english as a first language. but anyway, i'm glad that they enjoyed my presentation. i managed to answer the questions pretty ok too, i think, but there was a suggestiong that i look into setting up a cDNA base for my project instead, becos wat i'm currently thinking abt doing is actually going to take too long. so will have to discuss that with roger instead.

my fav part of the whole thing? fahmi's blurness when it came to the Q&A. cos someone asked him how he was going to get a drug to select the particular receptor he was studying, except he misheard the question as how was he going to select his project... so his answer was that his supervisor would select it for him. lol. the whole audience nearly died laughing, cos it happened that his supervisor is the head of the pharm dept. XD and he also inserted, under his aims for the end of the year, 'relief (hooray!)' and stated that he hoped he'd be relieved by the end of the project. *rofl* crazy guy. but entertaining nonetheless. his presentation was really a powerpoint version of his project outline.

and at the risk of sounding biased, i think the 3 of us at the avru had the most interesting presentations. XD cos how often do you get to hear pple wax philosophical on conesnails, jellyfish and scorpions? hahahah. yay for happy happy joy joy research topics.... wonder wat i'm going to do at the lab next week... shud prob start research the exact protocols for my analysis.

dance today was fun. tyson's student bought him a scarf from sri lanka so he was wearing it to waltz, with a cowboy hat. -_-" then he decided to tie it ard his hips and teach me cha cha. lol. so yup. cha cha was fun... then we were gossiping with liza and she was saying how she misses all the crazy college pple... remember how we used to go for group and then we sat down in the corner and sang the teru teru bozuo (or however it's spelt) song from hare no chi guu? complete with the hand gestures? XD lol. la la. miss the mad times... whee~! so yup, is set for medal on oct 27th. tysons aims are to get my jive bouncy, my rumba fluid, my samba with loads of hips and my cha cha sharp and strong. -_-" i have no problems with that, but i can only hope that by the time i'm thru with cha cha, samba and rumba, i'll actually have enough energy to bounce my way thru jive during the medal! and that i don't trip and fall flat on my face doing all the spins and swivels... -_-" floor at the medal venue is teh slippery desu. sniff.

ok. shall go and finish dinner. i cooked a giant portion cos i'm starving to death... only had a bowl of soba at 3... was contemplating getting mackers on the way home from dance, but decided i needed to finish the food in my fridge. hmm... if i'm not feeling too lazy tmr, i might just walk to the city to get hungry jacks for lunch... or else i'll walk to vic mart to get mackers... oh and there's KFC up the road near uni. decisions decisions. hahaha. or maybe i'll just buy a choc croissant from teh bakery at vic mart after marketing... then come home and sleeeeeeeeeep. hahaha. XD

kevin: you've cracked it, lost it, never had it... watever it is, but in this case we'll assume it's your brain. lol. i thought you were supposed to be on exchange in france STUDYING. not getting smashed. -_-" oh well. have fun with the beer and watnot. and yesh, if you buy the amaranth cd and pirate it to me (or even pirate it from somewhere else and then share the nightwish love with me) i will worship you for like 1 minute and join your non-existent fanclub for the day. XD hahaha~

and shoot the person who decided it would be nie for us ams students to have a trial run at presenting tmr.

well. not that i mmind presenting. i just hope i get answerable questions and that the equipment doens't screw up on me *touch wood*

ya... but other than that, shud be ok. i inflicted my presentation on FCT last nite... i went over time and that was without talking abt HPLC and mass spec, so i guess i'll be fine tmr cos when i'm nervous i talk faster. and i wasn't talking that fast yesterday. whee! lol. waku coming over to be presentationed to later so will see how then.

kevin is once more my bestest best fren of doom. becos he ripped the amaranth mp3 of the youtube video. XD can't wait for the album to come out...

ok. back to summarising the joys of mass spec into one slide and looking for a suitable picture... i'd put in the cartoon one i found except i don't think they will appreciate that as a sample mass spec... hahaha

yes. i'm stoned. very stoned. i stayed up till 4.15 yesterday, supposedly doing powerpoints, actually read fic. -_-" well. i didn't expect it to take THAT long to finish off the story... but it was a good story so. XD and then i woke up at 10 to wibble to the lab by 10.55. hahaha. not bad. my wibbling speed has increased. i now do things by 10min breaks. my snooze interval is 10 min. i take abt 10 min to eat brekkie. then i take 10 min to do my make up while packing bag (wondering how that works? easy. put on foundation. change socks, pack laptop, pack lunch, pack mobile while waiting for foundation to dry. put on rest of makeup, dash out of apt) whee~! so erm, maybe 10 is my lucky number? hahaha

speaking of 10, i've this urge to call one of my characters 'ten'. as in, meaning heaven or sky. hmmm... and for those who have no idea wat the hell i'm talking abt (as usual XD) i'm trying to name the characters in teh original fic i'm writing... ya... thanks to much poking and prodding from mr veggie, i've decided to start writing again this weekend... and he's kindaly volunteered himself (more like i've just appointed him) as my naming machine. since i suck at naming characters, he's going to name those i can't think of decent names for. XD whee~ the thing abt me is that if i know how the story ends, i don't feel like writing the middle. so this time, with my wonderful will it ever be completed epic i'm NOT going to write the ending until it's time to end it. otherwise i'm never going to write the middle bits. *looks at Winter Fairy and mourns* (that was a crap fic anyway. like OMG i wrote a bloody mary sue after all those years of complaining abt authors who did that haha)

anyway. powerpoints are almost done. i just need to add in some crap abt mass spec, and then upload the photo oh the HPLC machine in the lab and put more crap in... shall go and type up wat i plan to say and print it out...

FCT is coming over later to pick up chun's stuff. so i'm inflicting my presentation and my cooking on him. hahaha. oh well. he did ask whether he was supposed to settle his own dinner, and i did ask if he wanted dinner so. *shrug* looks like i won't have that much extra fooda left at the end of this week as compared to last. XD oh well. pasta is easy to make. and it's the only thing i have enough meat for anyway. i don't think 1 chicken breast is going to go very far btwn a guy and a bottomless pit (ie: me). so yay for extra beef mince and my laziness in not cooking dinner last nite. (cos i err... slept till 7.30. so by the time i woke up i was too hungry to marinate the chicken. so i settled for the microwave dinner which has been in my freezer since i moved in. -_-")

i have a foolproof (sort of) way of catching crickets without touching them. it involves a plastic lid from a takeaway box and an egg carton. so imagine this. me in the long sleeved lab gown (cos yanno, i don't want any crickets hopping up my cardi sleeves) with the latex gloves on, bending over a giant plastic box (like the kind you store toys and books in) and chasing crickets round the box with the egg carton and plastic lid. hahaha. poor little crickets. they must be like 'psycho human... cannot make it'. ya. so if anyone looked in through the door yesterday they would have seen me desperately rummaging ard a box and swearing at the crickets as they tried to hide behind the other egg cartons in teh box. -_-" but i've concluded that they're really stupid. when i chucked one cricket into the scorpion tank, it immediately took refuge under hte rock next to the scorpion. -_-" and of course, stupid scorpion didn't even know the cricket was there. so it was really like the whole 'lion and lamb' image. lol

yes. so. i'm still at the lab now. just finished lunch. decided i will stay till maybe 4+... might go and see if the theatre we're presenting in is still empty later... have a look see abt the controls and stuff... ya... i ran into tony hughes in the tearoom just now, he was saying that he won't be at hte presentation cos he's got pbls to run... desu. i hope that half the world isn't there. i thot it was only us AMS students! so hmmm... ya. oh well. i'm wrapping up the talk, so hopefully they'll stil be interested and not ask me evil questions. i changed the spiderpig slide to another picture... it's of a scorpion crossing immigration. lol

anyway. i wonder if i'm going to hop onto the coffee bandwagon? probably not unless i end up drinking it everyday. i just felt like having one just now while waiting for my stew to heat up. so i helped myself to the instant coffee... la la la... ya... shall try not to make it a habit. don't want to get addicted lol.

ok. is off to... play 1 game of jigsaw and then finish off ppt. whee~!

mwahaha. i have a new msn game to keep me company. introducing: JIGSAW! with 3 new puzzles everyday.

in other news, my supervisor has gone home and the lovebirds have gone for lunch.

my powerpoints are coming along nicely. i did a brief run through just now and i think i hit abt 5 min just talking abt my scorpions. so i just need to talk slower. also adding in extra stuff abt scorpion toxins and why we shud study scorpions... then i need to add in the extra stuff abt my techniques and analysis methods. os i hope i get to abt 9 minutes... ya...

and supervisor-san told me to go feed the scorpions later... en-chan is going to brave her fear of crickets!!! *determined look* i hope i don't smash them by accident if i panic... cos erm, scorpions don't go for dead crickets. -_-" ya... i wonder if there's a paper cup or smthg i can use to trap the crickets... maybe i'll use the metal cylinder that we use to pick the scorpions up with... in case anyone hasn't realised yet, I HATE CREEPY CRAWLEYS. so don't ask why i'm doing a project on scorpions. -_-" oh well. i t could be worse. i might have to feed them spiders or smthg... sha la la.

so i'm sitting in the lab... and i'm the only one here... no wait, pat just came in. hmm. ok. so if it's just hte 2 of us... who opened the lab and turned on the lights this morning??? unless roger came in and then left just before i got here? haha, now THAT would be funny. tee hee.

ok. so. agenda for today, finish the first half of powerpoint. and then if roger doesn't come in by 2pm, i'm sending out my project outline, and then going home for lunch. maybe i should go to safeway as well... need to get BIKKIES!! have this craving for the arnotts righ tea bikkies... yummy... i wonder if i'm putting on weight yet. been eating a lot the past fw weeks. la la la. hehe. as long as my pants fit i don't care. but then again, better not eat too much, cos have to wear fitted clothes etc for medal nite in oct... argh. still early. shall eat more. hahaha.

spent the weekend slacking off hahaha. read LOTS of fic. is a happy happy joy joy person now... got links to 2 fic archives as well. so i guess that i'll be occupied and not pestering anyone for fic recs for a long time more... unless i get sick harry potter fic. then i was muchly you-tubing nightwish yesterday. watched bits and pieces of the end of an era concert... and the new video of their latest song 'amaranth'. not bad, the song... annette's voice is more pop/rock than tarja's opera, so that'll take some getting used to. but her pronounciation is clearer... and i just realised that tuomas (the keyboardist/composer/head of the band) looks A LOT like johnny depp. think jack sparrow, only much fairer and minus all the crazy braids. hahaha. ya. in other words, he's kind of cute. XD

ahem. so. fangirling aside, didn't do much else. oh, and went for dinner with teh luverly goddess and her entourage. hahaha. and now i know how 'merde' is pronounced properly, thanks to sean. so my guess on how to pronounce it based on kevin's instructions over MSN was quite correct. XD hehehe... ya. and then i proposed to goddess with the flowers from waku's veggies and a random bean sprout. XD whee~

erm... let's see... yup, so that was my weekend. hee. not bad huh. XD ya... then was chatting to FCT last nite... or rather, he was spamming me with random points from the national day rally cos he was listening to it over the radio. -_-" so yes. for once, i actuallyl know wat the rally was abt. mwahaha... whee!

ok. guess it's abt to start work soon... la di da... maybe i should stop staring at my computer too much... starting to get horrible neck adn shoulder aches. sigh. wish there was actually decent stuff to watch on tv... it's either that or else start re-reading the harry potter series and black jewels trilogy again. guess wat? i turned up at the labt this morning at 11.

noone there. XD

went downstairs to the com lab to camp... came back upstairs at 1130 to find ran pottering ard trying to find the keys to the freezers and someone else i assume is his co-supervisor from RCH. supervisor's bag was on his chair, turns out he went to feed to scorpions... then i asked him abt the mass spec crap and... he told me to ignore watever the HoD told me to add in wrt to that. *dies laughing* then he complained abt having his tooth out and then he left abt 15 min ago.

can i just say that our lab is teh no. 1? hahaha. ya... so i'm gong to sit here and type out my project outline. then i'll go home. maybe i go safeway to buy my box tissue and more chocolate. yumm... choc. hahaha

ya. so now it's just me and ran in the lab... no wait, he went lab-hopping -_-" it was quite funny, cos he rang patricia right after roger left, cos she wanted to meet him to ask qn... turns out she just left the house. so she went back home and she's not coming back in. hahahaha.

ya. so i was d/ling all the imogen heap mp3s i could find off my latest fav site. which aren't very many unfortunately... so erm... kevin, since she's english and you're in france, can help me check the prices of her albums? then i'll contemplate slowly abt whether i really want her albums. ^_^" and i finally realise why she sounded so familiar the first time i listened to the frou frou album... she's the one who sang one of my fav songs from teh 'chronicles of narnia' OST. -_-" it just didn't occur to me then that frou frou was a group name, not a solo. ah well. now i know.

SCORPIONS!! sigh. so tempting to not go to the lab tmr, but i desperately need to ask my supervisor questions. assuming he's there. if he's not... i dunno wat i'll do. there's a research in progress presentation on in the afternoon tho... so... hmm. argh.

sometimes i sit there and wish for a fire drill or smthg just to get some action into the monotony of me pretending to do work in the lab. it sucks that when my concentration gets broken, it sometimes takes a loooong time to focus again, if at all. -_-"

Ice cream!

lol. just got home from the great ice cream hunt with char... left the lab at abt 4.45, the lovebirds were off in another lab with their fren. ya... anyway, i got a call from char a couple of minutes after walking out teh building so we went to freddo's for gelati....

well. now we know that freddo's is closed on mondays and tuesdays for the whole of august. -_-"

so we crossed the road to another place... they weren't selling their rocher ice cream. honestly tho, wat's the point of displaying 2 (or was it 3?) perfectly yummy looking (well, maybe not as muhc as freddo's) rocher ice cream if it's only for display and not for sale???

so we went to kokoblack. and now char knows that kokoblack sells ice cream. XD ya. had the latte ice cream, wasn't that nice. was more like coffee flavoured vanilla. so next time i'll just stick to chocolate... but still, it's ice cream and good ice cream. with yummy chocolate shavings. hahaha..

and now i'm stuffed. will prob go and cook porridge at 8+... maybe eat dinner as supper. hahaha.

sooooo tempted not to go to the lab tmr... since HoD not ard. but supervisor might be ard... hmm... i think i'll go in at 11. and if the lab's locked, i'll go again at 11.20. if it's STILL locked, i'm going home. cos i went to see admin guy today and he's out of the key-type for my lab... so no keys for me yet. can't wait to get the key tho, it'll save a lot of me hanging ard and running ard wiating for someone with the key to show up. hahaha.

need to work on project outline sha la la...

i changed my fluffy slippers at last! my once-baby-pink-now-pinkish-grey slippers have been retired to my cupboard for my mum or sisters to use if they decide to visit. so now i'm wearing the ones i bought in NY. they're black with a cup of coffee on the front. XD tee hee... i feel tall, cos this one has a really thick base... la di da~!

the whole world has gone out for lunch... no wait, HoD just came back in. well. supervisor-san is sick again, so no meeting this morning. ended up sleeping in till 10 and then getting to the lab at 11. surprise surprise, the door was still locked. -_-" ended up wandering up and down for abt 20 min before HoD showed up to unlock it. hahaha. i really should go and get my own key to the lab. guess i'll do that later after lunch... cos i tend to get sleepy after lunch even tho i eat at ard 2. oh well.

quiet day at the lab, noone to talk to online, nothing to say to the pple ard me... hahaha. my goodness. i'm actually missing kevin's spamming telling me to go listen to the spiderpig song he sent me. -_-" i think he's going whee~! somewhere over the indian ocean en route to france now. maybe. somewhere there. hahaha. oh well. maybe i should go and spam da jie? now that's a thought. hahaha

ya... cannot make it. no one to talk to... anyway. am currently erm, reading fanfic while working on my presentation slides and my project outline. ya, i'm getting better at multi-tasking. hahaha. well, supervisor isn't here cos he doens't come in on mon, but HoD is. la di da... couldn't get into the lab at first when i got here at 1045... so hung out in the com lab till 11.10. and i ran into teh HoD on the way up. -_-" oh well. sha la la. ya... so am slacking off again... i'll visit my scorpions tmr to check on them... need to take more photos i think. must remember to bring in my ruler as well to 'measure' their sizes... still haven't found out more info abt them ARGH. sigh.

sniff. so it's back tot he lab tmr... SIGH. oh well. the weekend was pretty good... slack. eat, sleep, read, eat more, eat again, read, read, read, sleep. hahahaha

anyway. i suddenly have this urge to listen to the song 'fever' or 'you give me fever'. except i can't find the version that i want... it's the one that used to play in the studio, the one where the singer has a higher but more powerful voice and doesn't really sound like a jazz singer. so far the only one i've managed to find is either by peggy lee or ella fitzgerald. i actually d/led 2 files under each of them, but both songs sound exactly the same so i assume that someone mislabelled the file. oh well.

yes, i'm at the lab... and i'm abusing my internet already. XD but i did something really stupid. i wanted to delete the pharmacology wireless profile cos it was irritating me cos it has no connectivity... somehow or other i managed to delete my apartment wireless profile instead. -_-" so now i've to go home and fix it. SIGH. but i have internet so i shall not complain. XD

all the supervisors not ard again... i think my supervisor is sick, apparently he only came in on tues. and he looked as tho he was going to collapse then. hope en-chan doesn't get sick... not nice getting sick when there's noone to baby you. *sniff* and no, kevin i do not need more of your cooties so prease to stay far away from me... considering that the ning da has already sold her soul to you for a wolf-kun, you is really turning into the devil desu. BLEAGH.

haha, ya, anyway, going to satisfy my subway craving with char later. yay~! i don't care if the guy still recognises us. hahaha. subway... yum... been having subway on the brain since last week or earlier. was planning to eat it for dinner anyway becos there's one next to 7/11 at the studio... so in this case i think i'll eat the remainder of my stew for dinner... but that means i've still got bean sprouts and bok choy in my fridge. -__-" need to do smthg abt that desu. sha la la.

Internet at last~!

yup. i now have internet at the lab. buti'm at home now. XD i ran home after the IT girl configured the IPs for me. XD was actually going to come home at abt 2, except that on my way out of the lab i ran smack into the HoD. so i covered by asking him whether he knew how to set up the internet... turns out he didn't and he rang the girl jsut before she left for lunch. so i hung ard till 3 (he left again at abt 2.45) and then she appeared and i have internet!! *hallelujah chorus* ya. except she couldn't get my laptop hooked up to the phramacology network. oh well. so she's going to figur eit out and get it done tmr. ^________^

amy-chan: i dunno if it's the same as the one under pigeon's apt, but there's a new rice place open near to seasons apt, that's the one i'm talking abt. i think it's new. ^_^" and i haven't watch hanakimi since ep 2... will start marathoning soon hahaha... hail the toma cos he is teh cute and crack. made meatball porridge with ginger for dinner... chucked sesame oil in too and it all smelt really nice. except i forgot that i don't have salt. -_-"

i feel brilliant. thank goodness for dipping sauce or watever it's called. but the porridge doesn't taste as nice as the one my mummy makes... maybe cos she uses pork and beef stock. oh well. is a nice change. at least i now know how to make porridge now. XD

note to self: buy a bottle of salt!! who cares if you can't finish it or that you don't use salt to cook at all. at least there won't be anymore semi-bland porridge. cos knowing me, porridge is going to be my new favourite dish cos it's fast and convenient.

wish i had the crunchy preserved veg which i only know the hokkien name off... argh. oh well.

incidentally, the rice place a couple of blocks away from home looks interesting. rice bar. anyone tried it yet? anyone wants to come and try it with me? maybe i'll drag ning one day. speaking of which, my backpack is still at her place cos eunice left it there. need to go visit and reclaim it one day. anyway, i e-mailed the computer guy. turns out that i don't need him to give me the IP, i need the HoD to do it cos we have our own network upstairs. *falls down* but i still have to give him my computer specs, so i'll be digging ard in my laptop doing that later... if i've problems, i'll need to hunt up the nearest geek... which would be, i dunno, kevin? or else mr veggie? cos koala muchly disappeared nowadays. la di da.

XD my meeting with supervisor lasted a grand total of 1 min. hahaha. oh well. at least i work right next to him, so if i got any stupid questions i can ask straight away. he was telling me how he's starting flying lessons again. lucky... en-chan wouldnt' mind learning how to fly, except i think my eyesight is too bad for it? and maybe not tall enough or smthg either. unless the height test is only for commercial pilots. oh well. i shall just be content letting pple pilot. then i can sit in the back and watch movies. XD

anyway, have decided to work on as much of hte project outline as possible without itnernet connection... then see how... maybe i'll go home at 3+ cos i need to check stuff up on the internet... if not i'll just hang around and slack during the day. hahaha... i've pulled up enough pdf's that i can read fic while pretending to read articles. wat. *jams halo on* i swear that i'm a good girl. hahaha. and

hmm. ok. all the supervisors just left for some coffee network thingy. and i think my supervisor might be leaving early to go to the library? i dunno. but i know that he's more or less confirmed taking every monday off. so yayness for me. XD bwahaha. making good progress with the project outline. is good. think i can finish it today... except for the bits that i'll need to check up online... and hopefully there's some info somewhere out there abt the scorpions too, cos i'm sick of reading journal articles. BLEH. anyway, i shall slack while i can. bleh. so i'm sitting at my desk in the lab typing this out... i have no internet connection meh. well, actually i do. i just don't have the password to access the wireless network. i thought it was a LAN connection, so i was crawling ard on the floor connecting cables.. turns out that it's NOT. cheat my feelings. so i went downstairs in an attempt to find someone who could help me except that there was noone at reception. meow. *cries* oh well. i'll go downstairs adn try again later... i really don't feel like moving. if there's anything worse than monday blues, it's being a girl on monday. *flops over and dies*

incidentally, my supervisor's not here again... mwahaha, maybe i'll stay till like 2.30 or smthg and then go home. i really don't want to be here today... sigh. and i shou;dn't have brought my lunch along cos i'm not hungry. altho hopefully i'll be hungry when it comes to lunchtime... see how as to whether i want to go home or not.

anyway, have started typing out hte project outline... it's a PAIN! desu. *sulks* i hate how everything seems peachy until you get round to doing it and then you realize that it's utter crap. sha la la

anyway, am muchly trying to waste time... sigh... i'm highly tempted to read the pdf HP fics/books. i can disguise them as journal articles and noone would know the diff. hahaha. en-chan is teh naughty. i'd read manga except that my back is to the door and it's kinda obviuos that i'm slacking off if my entire screen is taken over by pictures ne? altho i could err pretend it's my screensaver of something... hahaha..

patricia just realised that i brought in my laptop and am typing madly, cos my keyboard muchly clicks. hahaha. i wonder if they think i'm busy messaging on messenger or slacking or else taken over in a fit of inspiration for the project outline/lit review watever. lol

anyway, i'm thinking of whether or not to bring my flip flap plant into the lab... you know, customizing work station and all that stuff. XD i brought in a packet of butterscotch candy already, except i'm wondering where i should put it since all the drawers have kind of been taken up by other stuff (which is not mine) i suppose i can just chuck it in, except that it might look like i'm stealing from teh other person?? oh well. maybe i'll just display it on my table... and put up a sign saying 'help yourself'... and maybe a small bowl asking for gold coin donations. hahahaha.

can anyone tell that i'm seriously procrastinating? cos i've typed more or less non-stop for almost 15 min and i've been rambling. in fact this reminds me of how i used to take over koala's laptop when he was out ofhis room in JCH. and he'd come back to find lots of rambling on his screen. XD i think there was one time i typed almost a page of crap without any spacing XD the joys of living in college hahaah.

anyway i've been naughty. XD i type a few words, go off to read a few pages of the draco dormiens fic that waku sent me... (oooh... there's a visitor here... must act as tho i'm very hard at work hahahaha... whee~! oh and kevin is back in the running to be my bestest best friend. he sent me nightwish last nite. XD nice quality... altho we both agree that the 2005 version of 'sleeping sun' sounds REALLY wierd... too... sweet. almost as though it's a different singer in fact... ya. i prefer the old version. and i really want to hear how the new lead singer sounds like. desu desu desu.

Blurness

lol... so i was doing my laundry at about midnite... was about to go downstairs to get it from the dryer when i realised that my feet were surprisingly warm... turns out that i'd almost pranced down the corridor in my fluffy slippers. XD

my blurness has no boundaries. hahaha.

and now i have this urge to eat instant noodles. my goodness. this is turning into my saturday/sunday ritual. la la la. eat and be HAPPY~!

incidentally, i'm feeling vaguely dislocated from waist down. tyson was teaching how to the do the figure-of-8 hip rolls for samba yesterday. now, that's perfectly fine for rumba, cos it's slow so there's plenty of time to think about doing it properly. but at the speed of samba, thinking and doing becomes PAINFUL. like i can feel my hip joint popping especially during the watchamacallit's, you know, the one where you go sideways (amy chi help! i can't spell) ya... tyson was trying to work out arm styling too... we're going to follow liza's style instead of brad's cos it's more forceful and she claims that tyson doesn't look half as stupid with a grin on his face doing the wrist snapping instead of the ballet-ish presentation. which is good cos frankly, i feel stupid doing the whole circle arm around head and out thingy... or as i used to screech at pete, the combing hair move. XD

i think i'm not making much sense. oh well.

samba is fun~! so far we've only been working on samba and rumba. cha cha is... so so. jive. hmm.. jive. i need to eat springs. sigh

oh, and tyson was attempting to do the jono-style of starting for the warm-up waltz. except it didn't work cos i think he missed something out and i was laughing too hard. oh well. my friday nite therapy is teh crack. hahaha. and yes, tyson is aware that i call him my therapist and is highly amused that unfortunately, i can understand him when he's babbling about obscure concepts or illustrating a dance move by using sounds instead of words.... gah. my brain is gone. hahaha

CHEAT MY FEELINGS!! there's no webcast for this weekend cos it's festival of praise... WEH! i wants to go!!! don moen and delirious? are there!!! i muchly fangirls the delirious? cos they have muchly nice songs and the lead singer looks like he's on crack. XD well, he looks liek owen wilson, hence the crack part. XD hahaha

sigh. so i dragged myself out of bed for nothing. feels cheated. oh well. i'm hungry anyway, so shall go and cook dinner..

this morning was muchly fun. went marketing with the waku, then we bought croissants and i stalked her home where we proceeded to babble abt many random things. XD then she stalked me home to dump stuff and pick up juice and toilet paper from ALDI, then we went to safeway and big w where i proceeded to stock up on my sugar supply. XD oh and i learned how to do the self serve checkout. i think Q-ing for the normal checkout would have taken less time anyway. haahhaha. look who's not going to end up working at safeway or wherever for a long time... takes too long to scan product properly hahahaha.

ya.. came home and kabish into bed... woke up abt 4h later, so looks like i'm not sleeping till erm, early tmr? hahaha. more fic to read~! oh and the waku and i were discussing harry potter fic and corupting each other. and she lent me terry pratchett book whoopee~! ya... so now she batt cos she make me want to read the 3 epic length fic that she sent me during swotvac... lalalala. hahaha

NO MORE LIT REVIEW~!

yay~! i finihed teh lit review~! at ard 4.30 this morning, but hey, it's still done. XD so yup, no more lit review... well, until it's time to hand in the first draft, then i'll have to redo and add on to it, but that's in a few months so i shall go lalala for now. XD

anyway, supervisor said that it's pretty alright. the style is a combination of a lit review and a report, but he doesn't really care since it's more like my information sheet to see how much i know abt wat i'm supposed to be doing... but yesh, he mentioned that i can use certain parts in my progress report due in a couple of weeks, so that's good too ne? XD haha. so now i sort of have nothing to do... except read articles, stone and work on the progress report. so will bring my laptop into the lab next week and start typing lalala.

ended up stoning in the lab for the morning and exhcanging sms with amy-chan and ning da... and kevin has been demoted from bestest best friend position, cos that now belongs to amy-chan for feeding me with fic. XDXD i'm so ebil la la la. hai hai, then ning da came over to have lunch with me... i put too much curry paste in, so guess whose nose was running on and off during lunch. -_-" ya. we were having muchly discussion abt JE and HP fic and i was threatening to dye professor's hair orange with my curry. then i restyled his hair into snape again. XD hahaha.

had lots of fun after lunch. was actually looking forward to stoning, except that i ended up going to the animal house with supervisor to check on the scorpions... we attempted to milk one of them again, but no results. it was really cool tho, except a bit scary cos the scorpion is abt the length of my palm and it was really attacking teh electrode when we clipped it to its tail and tried to get some venom out... the other ones are smaller, but more dangerous... so hmm. will see how that goes. but it was all fun. was watching supervisor trying to sort the crickets he bought from vic mart to get the smallest ones into the enclosure with the tiny scorpions. he was telling me that crickets are the stupidest insects alive. wat happened was he was chucked some into a tank with a funnel-web spider, which burrow holes in the soil. so the crickets were all happy and exploring the place, and they found the hole and decided to jump in to see wat was inside... needless to say, they never came back out. -_-"

after that went back to lab and was reading a book that supervisor chucked on my table. it was kinda amusing, cos there was a paragraph describing how one type of scorpion tends to hunt cockroaches, except the roaches are bigger than it so they end up getting dragged all over the place by the roach after they hook onto it and until they can sting it. -_-" the things you never knew. will photocopy those chapters tmr during the break betwn the lectures... it'll give me smthg to do ne?

went for teh research in progress seminars at 4... guess wat the short-form is? RIP. -_-" so when i first saw the title of the e-mail, i was like huh? wat's the connection btwn pharmacology and a seminar for the dead?? ^_^" haha. as you can tell i wasn't very lucid. ya. the presentations were really good. it was interesting too... so now i've been inspired to go and take photos of the scorpions so that i can waffle abt them on the slides. XD tee hee... oh and HOD told me to go and find out wat the latin names of the scorpions we have mean. cos apparently michael lew once sabotaged a student by asking him wat the latin name for box jellyfish meant. *falls down* i hope i can ans all my qn desu. la la.

ya. came home and found out that the apt inspectors were in my place. and i think i just missed them by 30 min or smthg. was kinda pissed off, cos i think most of you guys know that i don't like pple poking ard in my things when i'm not ard... so i went downstairs and checked my letter box. turned out that there WAS a notice in there. except it was put in 24h ago, therefore i didn't check cos i didn't go out at all yesterday. grr... ya, oh well. so there was no comments or watnot ont eh form they left behind for me to fill out, so i assume that they don't care abt my posters. oh well. need to go and see if i want anything fixed later... the towel rail is looking a little shaky... hmm...

okie. off to finish dinner... is a hungry en-chan. XD then can slack with a guilt-free conscience for the weekend. hahaha. LALING~! HANAKIMI PARTY DESU~! erm... saturday arvo or smthg? you can come over for brunch, altho i have no idea wat to feed you this time... maybe i'll go buy milk so can make scrambled eggs and finish the eggs in the fridge... and i need to go ALDI tmr to stock up on juice and stuff... maybe will buy cereal too? been a long time since i ate cereal. yum yum~! *poofs to indulge in ficcage*

In the mood for Christmas

i suddenly had the urge to go and d/l 'oh holy night'. don't ask why. i suddenly have a fixation with that song. so now i've got the celine dion and the kelly clarkson versions and am trying to decide which i like better. kelly clarkson's is acapella whereas celine dion's is the more traditional one.

why i feel the need to decide which i liek better is beyond me.

heck. why am i even d/ling christmas songs now??? apart from the fact that it's winter and therefore cold. -_-" i hope my neighbour doesn't think i'm mad. XD not sure if his bedroom or living room is next to my bedroom, cos i can hear him slam the door sometimes, and i heard him coughing just now when i was playing the songs on loop. XDXD

en-chan's thought processes never fail to amaze me. oh wait, i AM en-chan. XD

and i still haven't finished the lit review. nope. i got sidetracked AGAIN. i was reading christmas fic *falls down* prease to save me from myself. i think i need to go for cold turkey or smthg. i seriously don't remmeber reading so much fic in a VERY long time. apart from the days in JC when i actually read every single fic on teh flame of recca page on ffnet. my goodness. if that wasn't an amazing feat i dunno wat is. but then again, teh fandom wasn't that big back then so it was doable... la la la.

i have fic on the brain. helpness.

i've come up with a brilliant plan for tmr. if i can't get hold of a computer to do my research, i'm going to put my project outline skeleton down on paper and vandalise it, and then underneath that, i'm going to put another piece of paper and write fic. XD bwahaha! ph34r my deviousness! XD

must remember to bring lunchbox along tmr... otherwise will have to run home during lunch to grab my yummy (hopefully) curry. hmm.

omg omg OMG i did it again... ARGH!!!!

yes i just spent the last 24 hours reading fanfic and sleeping. instead of writing the $%^&* lit review which i'm supposed to give to supervisor-san tmr.

and with all the influx of fanfic, i find myself severely undermotivated. AGAIN. why why why do i keep doing this to myself???

and i dunno why, but my right arm hurts. like muscle pull hurts. except i don't remember carrying anything heavy enough in the past 2 days that would cause it to ache that much... strange. oh well. and maybe i should stop cracking my fingers... and my neck.... argh i am in muchly pain from bad posture and over-computer-ification. SIGH.

NOT GOOD FOR PRODUCTIVITY DESU. also, never read good fic whose authors have posted many other good fic. becos 1. reading many good fics takes up time and 2. most of those good fics are INCOMPLETE and therefore leave you feeling CHEATED. *headdesk*
