Sleep-deprived

lalala *KOs on table* sooooo sleepy desu. i think i can just sleep the entire weekend my goodness. =.=

anyway, the big move has occurred!! the tim has officially colonised the mag's spare room and part of her shed with all his worldly belongings. lol. it was highly amusing, the whole packing and shifting process... cos we went for a movie at first, so we only started packing at abt 9+... me and deva attacked the kitchen and finished in abt 2h. very impressive. and i was getting happy wrapping up the breakables hehe. i think that an ideal holiday job for me would be to work at the gift wrapping section lol! ya. so we packed like mad pple until eventually the duracell bunny batteries in me gave out and i became an obstruction in the middle of the narrow passageway that was left after stacking all the boxes ard cos i was too tired to move out of the way lol. then went home at 3? 4? am had supper and KO'd till the next day where i wibbled ard the apt making stupid comments and getting happy by stabbing the duct tape in order to cut it.

the mover came over at ard 8, took almost 1.5h to load the lorry. impressive, the way the guy loaded the washer and dryer onto the trolley. O.o and it was very fun to ride in the lorry too. talk abt looking down on pple along the road ahahha. and the GPS system he had was super naggy. "at 400m, turn right.... TURN RIGHT" and "destination on your left in 400 m... DESTINATION REACHED." i think i looked like a kid in a car for the first time lol. would have been bouncing up and down in the seat if i was strapped in with the seat belt and if the lorry itself wasn't bouncing away anyway hehe. then went to mag's place, unloaded everything, watched kelly and daxter chase each other ard the garden and stalk tim and deva... and kelly was showing off her leap frog skills by jumping onto the roof of the kennel just as we were carrying it back into position. needless to say, we dropped the whole thing. and thank goodness that my toe wasn't in the way. -_-" after that we collapsed on the sofa and debated wat to eat but ended up surfing facebook while daxter was using my foot as a pillow and i was using him as a backrest and kelly was half on my lap.

anyway, we ended up at mac's in the city having dinner as supper at midnite... there was a vaguely psychotic guy, but he was harmless, thank goodness. this sem has really been fast food sem, considering how me and char kept getting chips craving adn ending up at kfc lol. ya... after went home and slept like a pig and barely managed to drag myself out of bed at 8.20 (that's a whole 1.5h earlier than normal!!) cos had to go lab early to meet supervisor to go to another research facility to learn how to use the mass spec machine... turns out that he was late anyway -_-" and then we left late too. so we were late in arriving. lol.

anyway. learnt how to do sample prep... the guy is super long winded... and all the technical terms!! *faints* ya. basically spent yesterday's session stoning and trying desperately to absorb wat he was saying and attempting to sleep standing up. hehe. ya, but anyway. learnt how to cut the bands out of the gel and how to set up the enzyme digest... then today we went back again to learn how to run the sample... there are soo many mass spec machines there... and the program is muchly complicates. -_-" vaguely understand how to use the machine now, but based on the initial analysis that the guy did for us yesterday, we mightbe better off using a different machine. but ya, he's pretty enthu abt it... altho it's still kinda messy now cos we don't know wat the proteins in teh venom are anyway... but hmm. at least the project is starting to look interesting once more... and why does it have to happen the week before i'm off for my hols?!?!? sigh. oh well. at least i'll know wat the heck i'm supposed to be doing when i get back next year. lala

SLEEEEEEEEEPY. supervisor is out buying a lightbulb for the scorpion cabinet, cos the one in there now is generating too much heat and cranking up the temp inside by abt 8 degrees. ya, so he's going to fix that later... and then hopefully he goes home early so that i can go home early too and SLEEP before dance. hehe. oh and i had yummy noodles at garage just now for lunch. he treated me cos he was dragging his PhD fren out for lunch. so it was quite funny cos his fren kept telling me not to trust him and that he's useless. lol. crazy science pple.

ok. shall go and do some work now... some dragon is attacking mine on facebook in a couple of min and i want to see how that turns out. may my dragon win! and ya... hehe. work work work.

Tree killer

guess who jsut found out how to print double-sided with the lab's laser printer?

so guess who went on a printing rampage? XD

hehehe. well. it's either that or doing a manual feed into my printer (which gets really tedious after a long time. trust me, i've been at it for 3 years. and i think in teh first sem, i couldn't figure out how to print even and odd at hte same time so i printed page by page.) and i figured that since the lab has a laser printer and noone's using it, why not me? ^______^

now if only i can find where the hole puncher is. surely there's a less dramatic version of the HUGE industrial size one (that has the punchy thingy on sliders so you can choose the spacing of the holes) lying ard here somewhere... or maybe i should just go to the copy room downstairs. hmm

i got an order form from the admin assistant. supervisor told me to fill it out myself last week, but seriously, i have no idea how it works. -_-" guess i'll wait for him to show up. he cheat my feelings this morning... i woke up early just to come to the lab for the weekly meeting, but he sms-ed me at 9.30 to say "let's meet later ok?" so i figured he'd be an hour or so late. so i took my own sweet time but still wibbled to the lab pretty early (why's my HoD on holiday when i'm actually early and vaguely enthusiastic abt coming to lab altho i don't do any expts??) yes. so to cut the long story short, he's still not here. and i'm wondering if he's going to be here in the near future. i want to siam early! damn sian. haiz.

yesterday nite went for steamboat buffet! madness. it was highly entertaining tho. and very impressive to see 3 guys decimate the entire table of food. i think i made a significant dent in the amount eaten, but i gave up 30 min before they did and just sat there and laughed myself silly. lol. think we were at the place until 12.30?? basically all but 1 of the staff had gone home by then, so a bit the sad haha... getting food late on a monday nite is hell in melbourne. even the asian food outlets are aussie in their closing times!!! haha. ya, then went to get cheesecake and coffee after that. needless to say, i was very repressed in my sugar high and eventually went wheeeee thru the roof. XDXD and then stoned a lot and went KO at abt 3. ^_^"

i am starting to worry abt my project. but i shall just live in denial for the next week and a half. next year i will go full steam ahead and do experiments everyday. which is why i WILL go home and write my introduction/add on lots of random crap to my lit review. and i went to play com games too dammit. argh. first up would be dirge of cerberus on... normal so that i can go into the warehouse and earn enough $$$ to get the ultimate weapon without dying too badly. then when i get ultimate weapon, i will play on extra hard so that i can blow everyone up. XD the smart programmers don't let you keep the death penalty on the save game load, otherwise getting thru the stages would be too easy. the only drawback abt the death penalty gun is that you don't get critical hit. it's just a guaranteed kill. la la. and then if got time maybe i'll play kingdom hearts 2?? interactive bashing yeah~ XD no time to play ff12, altho that would be fun... hmm. ya. basically that. see if got time to play ff8? was planning to try during this hols, but i think i was supposed to get the guide or cheats or both from kevin and he's only going to be back in jan so prob no time. i might try wallowing thru it again with the guide that i've got tho. see how first.

COMPUTER GAMES~!!! is having CGS = computer game syndrome. which always happens the week or so before i go home and eventually escalates. i think last year or smthg i was dreaming abt blowing stuff up woohoo! ya. ahem. so erm, will slack off till after christmas or smthg. then do lit review. *determined pose* will get work done during the hols for once.

anyway. shud go and do work now. think i'm off to the country for fishing or some other random activity this weekend. funness. and the joys of knowing pple who know pple who have cars. XD whee! i volunteer to be the sober driver. altho i haven't driven in like a year... i think? i know i didn't drive when i went home for winter... and i think i didn't drive much last summer either. oh well. will go home and take over the cute red mazda. provided my sister doesn't fight with me for hte car. but then again, i don't have anywhere to drive to. -_-" SAD CASE!!!

ok. work work. not going lab tmr. is helps up with the great packing spree!!! i foresee that someone or some pple or not going to sleep tonite lol. *twirls off waving duct tape*

Solititude~!

hee~ am at the lab and not complaining (much) for once. ^_________^ well maybe cos it's nice and empty. there's no one here... HoD's on holiday and PNG girl isn't coming in till later this afternoon cos she went to fix her laptop. and supervisor isn't here as usual, altho ohe rang just now to check whether i was cos he wanted me to route the medical advice calls thru to another doctor instead of HoD. so phew! lucky i was at the lab. is highly tempted to siam early anyway. hehehe

anyway! weekend! i think i slept a lot? i dunno. it feels like i slept a lot. -_-" oh well. was webcasting over my TV on sat cos i was too lazy to move my laptop after the boston legal spree. hehe. funkiness. ya. then on sun went to pacific house for dinner! and kokoblack dessert!! woohoo choc ice cream!!! somehow it wasn't as rich as i remember. hmm... oh well. shall go and eat freddo's new flavour, the one that's like choc and mars bar and really sugar overdose hahahaha. ya, then we stalked tim's fren to the casino. the casino is very... shiny. ^____________^ i now know how roulette works, understand the mechanics of poker altho strategy goes whoosh over my head and erm, vaguely know how pontoon works. ^_^" but in case anyone's worried, no i'm not going to have gambling vibes anytime soon. my luck is too random such that when i'm on a losing streak, i REALLY lose like mad. (as apparent from my betting on races in fluff friends on facebook. -_-") but we did make enough money to cover dinner expenses i think? excitingness! hahaha. oh. and i kept getting asked for ID when we wandered in and out. -_-" surely with makeup on i don't look THAT underaged. -_-"

let's see... wat else... mum rang yesterday, she and my sisters were high or smthg, cos she kept giggling and my sisters were basically passing the phone back and forth -_-" i think i shall kertok them and make them buy me a bag for my b'day. mwahahaha. oh and i need to go and try makeup and perfume maybe? cos sis leaving for bangkok, so i can get her to buy for me from duty free... altho i could always ask my other sister when she goes japan for her honeymoon... i wonder if i should stick to mac for eyeshadow if i should get more from the make up house/store (still haven't figured out the correct name altho i stare at it every morning. -_-") oh well. see how. maybe will drag lyd to the shop in marina square when i go home. lol. i think last year we bought each other the exact same shade of eyeshadow for christmas?? hahaha.

going home in 2 weeks!!! was making a list of stuff to buy on fri during the PhD talks. XD hope i have enough luggage space. i think i might be bringing back 3 boxes of krispy kremes if i've space. *falls down* ya... need to go hunt down choc and jam for various pple. hmm. and get stuff for my grandma. argh! the great pilgrimage to vic mart for non-food related shopping!!!1 heheheh see how... ya. i think i was having random dreams abt going home/coming back to melb and not having enough time to do shopping and thent eh duty free at the airport sucked and i was freaking out cos i couldn't find wat i wanted lol!

hmm... am blasting the transformers OST on my laptop now. i left my earphones at home so just as well no one ard to complain. hehehe. lala. ok. shall go and read news and then do a bit of work... i've a feeling that i'm really going to siam after lunch... late lunch... heeeeeeee~! *twirls ard madly*

oh yes. and thanks to the tim haolian-ing his graphics card yesterday, i is now having computer game tendencies. in fact, i'm having kidnapping urges too... ie: kidnap his computer and then play warcraft and command & conquer and all the games that go BOOOM and blow lots of stuff up. XDXXD in fact, while i'm at it, maybe i shud go ask goddess if i can babysit her PS2 for her while she's in london. hehehehe. LALALA. wants to play copmuter games desu. -_-" oh and i need to get my KH discs back from her since she doesn't like them anyway. and i think i'm supposed to lend my ff12 to the FCT. how he's going to finish playing it btwn when i lend it to him and when he goes back to uni, i have no idea. it took me most of the summer hols to complete it last time round. and i wasn't even training very hard. sort of. well i think i went into the final battle with average level 63 and almost DIED. ff12 has the hardest final boss i've played in a long time. seriously. insane. -_-"

BORED!!!

weeeeeeeeeeeeeh.

perfect sleepy weather once more, nice and grey and cold... it was soooo warm and comfy under my doona this morning that i just felt like burrowing and shoving my head under the pillow and staying there all day.

or until my tummy protested and started demanding brekkie but that's beside the point.

so yes, here i am camping out at the lab, why does time seem to pass so slowly??? -_-" maybe cos for once i'm sort of doing work??? hehehe.

the PNG girl is mixing... stuff. and somehow she managed to finish up wat was left of the acetic acid. i really don't want to know how she pulled that off... do i? i think i should go check whether we've got another bottle available. otherwise it'd be a big joke if i couldn't do my destaining. -_-"

anyway! i sort of got to the lab earlier today. like, 15 min earlier. i feel proud of myself. hehe. not that my brain came along with me but that's kind of common by now so MOVING ON.

i want to go home!!!! any home anywhere will be fine. jsut somewhere where i can sleeeeeeeeeeeep and hug a few teddy bears (yes, all at the same time) and live further in denial!!!

where's my supervisor anyway. he's supposed to be building the new holding area (aka: a glorified freezer that's going to be modified to a scorpion enclosure) since we got unceremoniously kicked out of the animal house so that the room we were using can be used for behavioural experiments. grrr. yes. and he's supposed to be milking the scorpions today too. but i have no idea where he is. and i've no idea if we're going for the mass spec training thingy tmr morning or not.. grr. there's a lab meeting tmr as well and guess wat i have no data to present. again. -_-" i'm going to run my gels next week, but first i want the venom dammit!!! oh and i need to go and hunt down more gel loading pipette tips.

lab dinner tonite! the only thing i'm looknig forward to is the food. and random conversation. i'm getting sick of having to drag my ass to the lab everyday. and it doesn't help that i'm behaving almost like i did when i was at work, ie: shut up and camp in the corner and ignore the rest of the world unless they talk to me. haiz. i need to go and... socialise more... connections a bit. hehe.

erm... wat else... yes, i'm going home in 19 days. i still don't have a dress for my sister's wedding. I NEED TO GO SHOPPING!!! and i need to go myer and try perfume and makeup so that i can give my sis an order list since she's gong bangkok on the 2nd and can get my stuff from duty free. la la. oh, and to the ning da, congrats on finishing your exams.

i shall go and continue with my literature searches now. SIGH. want to go home and sleep dammit. i hope the weather remains cold over the weekend. guess wat's on my agenda? hehe

Dessert-fied

whee~~~ yummy yummy cheesecake and apple pie and vanilla ice cream courtesy of xiuhui last nite~~ *twirls ard happily* and once again i have managed to impress pple with the rate at which i demolish dessert. hehehe. oh and she was feeding me white and red wine except that SOMEBODY stole all the wine so that i wouldn't get too happy and sing cheesy chinese songs all the way home. >< evilness. deprive en-chan of yummy sparkly wine. ^_________^

erm... ya. so i was supposed to wake up by 9.30? didn't work. kept hitting snooze and didn't roll out of bed till 10. and even then very unwillingly. it's raining and grey and overcast today, perfect for sleeping in. and given that it's finally back to 18 deg tops after hitting 37 the past 2 days, very very tempting to not show. but oh well. i eventually wibbled out the house. so go me. ^_^"

ran itno supervisor at last! but he's off for a meeting and watever for the rest of the day, so won't see him till tmr. there's a big 'war' of sorts going on btwn us and another dept in pharm cos they want to move our scorpions out of the room that they're in. and incidentally i think one of them died. cos the crickets were having a party in the tank when i checked on monday. -_-" LA LA LA. and i need to start on the next round of analysis. hmm. i'm also wondering if ethanol precipitation is the way to go or if i should jsut dissolve it in water, cos the water way seems to be how everyone else is doing it. HMMMMM.

ok. time to to do work... summarise articles... maybe read a few more of those crime articles. oh and we found a paper on the british medical journal yesterday abt the use of parachutes to "prevent deatha dn major trauma related to gravitational challenge". it's hilarious but makes sense (omg wat's wrong with me) altho i can't believe the BMJ actually published it. lol!

edit at 3.30pm: OMG. more than 5h after putting them on, i've finally realised that i'm wearing mismatched earrings!!!! don't ask how i managed to pull that off... i always thot i'd never confused them altho they're both dark coloured when one is heavier than the other. -_-" haiz. oh well. fashion statement a bit. XDXD i blame it on the weather. cos it's dark and grey and therefore my room was too dark to see clearly and my mind was still in bed altho the rest of me was up and moving about and getting ready to go to the lab against my will heheh

Melting!!!

bleh. is hot desu. and all those silly flies ought to be shot!!!

anyway. i woke up early-ish today... rocked up to the lab at 1030. i was supposed to have a supervisor meeting at 10, but he's not here, probably recovering from jet lag. hehe. i figured that i might as well be late for the meeting than showing up early and getting abandoned. ^________^

did i mention that it's bloody hot? but apparently it's supposed to rain like mad later and cool things off to less than 20 deg max tmr. -_-" emphasis on the word 'apparently'

wakuwaku is going home today!!! *howls* is abandoned hehehe... think i'm still supposed to go marketing with the goddess? i dunno. hehehe. but given her inability and my plain refusal to wake up on saturday mornings.... hmm, i wonder how that's going to work out lol. oh yes, need to go reclaim my PS2 games from her. counting down to going home to play dirge!!! and i should start making a list of pple to send christmas cards too... and how many cards i have. -_-" i think i've got some left at home??? i don't remember anymore. -_-" but yes, 'the reject shop' is good for the cheapo soul hehehe.

MSG and salt rampage!!!! i need to defrost my fridge very badly.maybe i'll do it this weekend, since i've finally taken out the last of my frozen meat. my sister suggested hacking hte ice out of my fridge nad using it to cool the apt down. lol. i might do that actually. put it in a bucket and put the bucket near me as i read or surf the net. woohoo!

currently wearing my lab coat as a jacket. hehe. so i look like i'm doing work but am actually not. actually, i'm reading articles on the crime website. very interesting. i'll link it for those who are bored and need reading material heheeh

oh and before i forget, waku desu!!! my sister says that if you want a job, she can keep an eye out for you. but it'll be at TTSH. hai desu. so if you want i can give you her e-mail ne?

Patience is a virtue

which i am starting to run dry on. i'm trying my best dammit but i dunno why i'm getting so cheesed off by so many little things. and it's not even that time of the month. -_-"

ok. to be more specific, i'm getting irritated with teh PNG girl in our lab. don't get me wrong, she's a perfectly nice person. but i just got a little irritated cos she was messing ard with the stuff for running gels this morning, when she doesn't know how to do it at all. so i came in just as she was unwrapping the gel that wasn't the one she was supposed to use. i don't know wat she was gonig to do with it, but if i hadn't arrived then, i think she would have just unwrapped both gels and then left them out to sit and dry up.

and then she didn't mix her samples yet, and she'd already screwed up the first one that she was mucking ard with. i told her 5 ul of buffer, total vol 10 ul, she just chucked 100ul of her sample into the 200 ul aliqout that i'd split my buffers into. and i wasn't even bothered with accuracy when splitting those volumes!!! grrr... yes. so she mucked and pottered ard while i got the tanks and everything ready, and she was slowly pipetting things and didn't even set her water bath to boil!!!! incidentally, our 'eppendorf holder' has finally disintegrated. whoopee.

and to make matters worse, when it came to loading hte gels, guess wat? we had no more gel loading tips. why? becos she went to use those tips to pipette other stuff. like hello, those tips are made to be super long for a reason, not just becos the manufacturer felt like it. so i was hunting thru all the shelves for more tips except we don't have any left. so i had to go borrow from the other lab. nad i need to find out where to get more.

ARGH!!!!

ok i'm being unreasonable here. i guess it's just my inherent nature that i don't like other pple touching stuff that belongs to me. and in my mind i see the whole gel apparatus as belonging to me since i'm the one who knows how to use it... ya. must breathe and calm down a bit. haiz. -_-"

anyway, further updates on my wonderful life, melbourne weather is mad, and all the flies should GO AND DIE!!! i hate it when they fly in my face and just STAY there. irritating. oh and i have ko-chan mirror con dvd!!! *flying glomps the ning* i is thanks you for my b'day prezzie desu~~~ there was a big drama on sat where i was attempting to contact ning except her phone was off. so i ended up at college square banging on the doors except i got the wrong floor twice... and if i'd continued down another floor, i actually would have got the correct unit. ^_^" sha la la.

oh and i think there's a lab christmas dinner of sorts this thursday... weehhh... no can watch heroes sniff sniff. hehe. must go to piracy central bwahahha

ok shud go do work... i feel slightly better after venting. i think the weather is getting to me too. is a grumpy en-chan. and hte main reason why i came to the lab today is becos there's aircon. lol. and lucky i did too, i shudder at wat could have happened to my lovely gels and apparatus if i didn't. -_-"

going to visit the waku adn lovely goddess later. whee! i hope that i don't end up as a puddle of goo if the temperature really hits 37 deg. may it be cooler at 6.30 or smthg. sha la la. ok. time to work. byebye~

Yes, I'm still alive

erm... well. yes. after an extended absence i finally return to inflict my presence on the world bwahahahhaa.

well, update since last week, i was sick~! (not like it's anything to happy abt) so basically i was KO'd the entire weekend altho i somehwo managed to wibble to the market without getting lost on the way (seriously, my brain was fried) and ya... till now i still have not figured out how and why i was sick... cos i was perfectly fine till i got home on friday and then my muscles decided to take an extended holiday. -_-" ya. then slept for almost 24h straight with a few meals in btwn through to sunday... was going to sleep more on sunday except that the pple downstairs were having a bbq to celebrate deepavali or smthg... so ended up moving house up the road till they stopped blasting their techno music and singing along very enthusiastically. -_-"

ya... so didn't go lab on mon and tues... was supposed to go on wed, except that we went to mag's place for movie marathon and to PLAY WITH HER DOGS!!! hehehe. the kelly and daxter are teh cute. i never saw a dog that could emo until i met daxter. hahaha. kelly was really sweet, i was curled up on the couch with her sleeping at my feet, and she kept kicking me when she was dreaming... and then she woke up and used my calf as her pillow... and eventually, she managed to work her way into a position that was basically her lying draped across my legs entirely with her head on my thigh so that i could pet her. lol. didn't help that she kept bouncing over to me cos i was the only one awake and trampling on the rest in the process. lol.

erm movies... ya, we watched 'the eye' and 'hostel 2' and i am proud to say that i didn't freak out at all. yeah! my first ghost and horror movie!!! i is rulez! hahaha. then we watched this other movie called 'i am a sex addict' which was a true life depiction of this director's fight with his addiction. it was a bit weird at times but on the whole pretty interesting... then we all went KO at abt 5.45 lol. mag's place is the good for movie night and sleep over... and for therapy. *glomps kelly* now i want a dog. -_-" then we went back to the city and had brekkie... and wibbled home... didn't sleep till 11... then KO'd thru to 6pm. not bad huh? talk abt vampire tendencies lol. didn't help that all the screwed up sleeping patterns resulted in me having a killer headache and neckache so wasn't the best of company for the rest of the day. ^_^"

thurs, went back to the lab at last... still felt like shit cos the headache wasn't gone. but i managed to pour 2 gels without snapping the PNG girl's head off. was kinda irritated cos she kept asking wat step i'm at in the process and why i'm doing that etc etc etc. -_-" ya. on a better day, i wouldn't mind. but anyway. i was as angelic as i could be. ^_______^ then came home and KO'd till 9, woke up and watched heroes and wibbled ard randomly... oh, and apparently i'm supposed to be editing a paper, except that the other person still has not sent it to me. -_-" she has till tmr before i crack it -_-" lalala $$$$$$$ ehehehe. not like this one will pay much cos it's not as difficult i think. hmm. oh well.

today... woke up, decided it was pointless going to the lab so i er. cough. didn't go. so i went back to sleep and woke up in time to gobble lots of cereal and run down to central to get the melb central card. then watched 'gabriel'... a very random movie... the plot is kinda WTF but there's lots of random violence. hehehe. ya... oh and the tim has finally switched to 3G. i'm switching next year. optus is getting irritating... ya. so now he has the N95. JEALOUS DESU!!! hahahaha. i'm always eyeing other pple's phones esp if they're nokia.... there's the metallic purple one but it's from sony ericsson... sha la la. ya... will change next year.... lalalalala

erm, yes, so that's the random update to convince everyone that i'm still on the face of the earth, not that it's not obvious given how i still have energy to haunt facebook hehehehe. i shall go and continue playing sudoku on facebook... or maybe i should play bejeweled??? feed the crow complex lol~

i love the internet at the lab. i BT-ed it yesterday right after amy chi told me it was released and it finished in 30 min. *impressed* oh and the new BT looks funky. more professional and complex then the old one haha. need to go and poke ard and figure out all the controls teehee.

SLEEPY! i really shud mix my solutions right. -_-" can't be bothered AGAIN. not good. haiz. is to drag lazy ass off chair in a couple of minutes to find kon to ask him abt hte pH meter desu.

lab meeting this morning, had it at barretto's. hehe. shouldn't have eaten so much breakfast lol! ended up just having a hot chocolate. no coffee. haha, don't want to go high in front of HoD. supervisor already knows that i go nuts after drinking coffee cos i was bouncing in my seat and fidgeting the other day when he was trying to talk to me. ^_^"

facebook spam!!! so many pple to stalk now. hehehe. fun laughter peace and joy. oh and i took a screenshot of the dodgy scrabble game i was playing with the amy. too hilarious!

oh oh. there's sudoku on facebook. guess how i spent most of my day yesterday. lol. didn't feel like doing work at all till ard 3 or 4... after which i went all out and FINISHED THE STUPID TAXONOMY ARTICLE!!! now i need to read more and hopefully it'll be enough to draw up a rough tree... haiz.

and i've this urge to get a labrador puppy!!! *head desk* mum says that we might be getting a dog end of next year, so is hopeful. hehe. i saw a faun/fawn/watever it's spelt as - coloured lab puppy yesterday... i think it was being trained to be a guide dog cos the trainer made it sit everytime it got to a traffic light. so CUTE!! and and and the PUPPIES in the melb central petshop!!! all those cute little balls of fluff. XD hahaha! ahem. ya. next time when i'm working and can afford one, i'm going to get either a dog or a black cat. hehe. if i get a black cat i should either call it snowy or jinx. XDXD

ok. shall go adn do some work... will find the pple from teh other lab after lunch cos i think kon goes for lunch at 1. la la la. it's friday at last and as usual, i think my brain never left home all week. O.o hee. *wibbles off to stone*

been getting my MSG fix. hehehe. and i plan to cook jap curry tonite. bwahahaha!! *exudes happy crack vibes*

went to chinatown for dinner last nite. dumplings yummm. ran into alice and wade at the shanghai dumpling place. apparently i'm still instantly recognizable from teh back!!! *impressed* didn't know i left that deep a scar on wade's mental psyche an impression on wade cos i think he was the one who picked me out. and the thing is that i had my hair tied up. i hardly tied my hair up in JCH i think. very rarely. yup. so turns out that they were both there becos wade forgot to order his late dinner and he had no food at all (typical) so alice decided that she couldn't be bothered with her late meal and they came to chinatown for dinner. lol. super funny. cos wade wanted to order veggies, and alice was like "what? you come all the way to a chinatown dumpling place to eat VEGETABLES?!" hahahah. yes. was eavesdropping la la.

so anyway, we had dumpling noodles, ordered more dumplings, ate until a bit high, went to freddo's, ate ice cream, got even higher, went home and watched a relatively cracky episode of boston legal... then i played bejeweled and chuzzle and had a very... interesting game of scrabble with the amy chi. basically, most of the word combinations that we came up with had dodgy interpretations. while some were just outright dodgy. lol. i told her that it would be possible to write a coughcough fic just using those words as prompts. lol

anyway, lab update! my supervisor is MIA. again. -_-" and the scorpions are going to be moved next door... so i dunno whether i'm supposed to do that myself or wait for him to appear, cos he's going boston next week, and i dunno how soon they want us to move teh scorpions. asap i assume, cos they want to use teh room they're currently in to run behavioural studies. oh well. at least it'll be in the room next door. so i won't need to worry abt having access to teh animal house. hehe. ya.

going to mix up my buffers later (finally) assuming that the pple in teh other lab have a working pH meter. -_-" if not then i'm just going to make up my solubilization buffer using their solutions cos I DON"T CARE ANYMORE. -_-" haiz. ya... so will make up solutions etc today, tmr is pour gel, then i'll help the PNG honours student run a gel for her snake venom next week. and i should work on my venoms as well except that i don't have any new venoms and i don't feel like working on the other species of venom that we have becos work has already been done on it (as yet unpublished) so wouldn't that just be a waste of time??? *shrug* GAAAAAAAAAAAH

need to work on article summaries. i aim to write up my introduction (at least, most of it and then keep adding stuff, hopefully) during the summer break. so that i'll have 1 less thing to worry abt when it comes to the final paper next sem. la. i ran into peter outside the lib the other day, lucky guy is graduating! ya, and he was making me panic by saying that i don't have that much time when i get back from hols etc etc. incidentally, he needs to cut his hair. if it grows any longer, it'll need a lawn mower. *acts innocent* i really really can't imagine him in the dentist outfit, you know, cos i think he'd look vaguely psychotic!!!! *runs away before random pple kill her* but i'm sure he'll make a fine dentist. except i don't trust him with my teeth heeeeeeee

Crazy internet??

hmm. i wonder if it's msn that's down, or if the cables have gone nuts again... i'd go poke ard at the cables except that if they're perfectly fine and i accidentally brush against the wrong one, i might trip the whole network for the lab and then i'll end up spending 15 min crawling ard under the table plugging all the cables back intot ehir sockets and praying one of htem is the right one. -_-"

i have this urge to play adventure quest. can someone please knock some sense into me. -_-" on the other hand, about 34 days to going home to hug my PS2~ XDXD temptation to play ff12, except that it'll take too long and i can forget abt playing other games. i shud really play ff8 -_-" but i definitely plan to play dirge of cerberus on hard and collect lots of money so that i can play under extra hard and get myself the ultimate weapon. *peace sign*

supervisor-san is MIA again/ he was supposed to milk the scorpions today... assuming that hte elcetrical stimulator is back. which it's supposed to be. hmm. oh and i think we might be shifting the scorpions into our lab or next door becos another lab needs the room that they're being kept in. darn. no excuse to take a long walk to spray water at them anymore... la la la. and it means that i'll have to figure out a less dramatic way to catch crickets to feed them if i've to do it in front of the entire lab -_-"

anyway! yesterday muchly fun laughter crack and abuse desu. hehehe. went for dinner with the waku and koala and there was much babbling and bashing of the koala to the point where tim was looking very vaguely traumatised ahahahha. *jams halo on* we were at some jap bar? thingy that served jap-style tapas. interesting. hehehe. koala was taking stalker photos again. -_-" oh and the sake came in cute glasses. hehe

went to watch rush hour 3 after that... the randomest and corniest movie i've watched in a long time. -_-" chris tucker is like, background noise and comic relief. jackie chan is... old. the asian 'chicks' aren't even hot... just the stereotype (sort of, more jap cutesy than asian asian), you know, big eyes, hair all pulled back very tightly... and there was a very very vague jessica alba lookalike. *scratch head* and the plot... well. you can guess who's the mastermind abt 30 odd mintues into the show. in other words, watch it if you need entertainment, but don't pay the full ticket price. hehe

pizza for supper! haven't eaten pizza for long time. was feeling high on glucagon (ie stoned) so i managed to whack more than half a large pizza. *impressed with self* dominoes pizza = yummy!!! (if you overlook the oil, but who cares) just erm, remember to give them your student card to get discount. i don't get it. don't we look like students? how come they didn't ask us for our student cards but asked the pple who appeared after us (some of whom didn't even look like students) oh, and conversation btwn a guy with a french accent and another guy with a very heavy indian accent is erm, coughhilariouscough. well. i found it funny. maybe cos i can hear 2 diff accents competing whereas they'd only hear 1. but ya. hehehe.

oh oh. mebourne cup! they actually rigged up a tv in the tearoom to watch -_-" and the news was all abt the races yesterday... one horse broke its hind leg just before it finished the race... fell down and hit another horse which hit its head on the railing... first horse had to be put down, poor thing. coincidence is that the jockey for that horse? 2 years ago, the horse he was riding got impaled on a metal structure, but it survived. and the horse that was put down was originally brought to melbourne to be a retirement companion for the luckier one. i wonder why the animal rights activists aren't all over this... not that i've anything against horse racing, but why is it deemed as less... cruel than say, greyhound racing? then again, racehorses are taken pretty good care off whereas the dogs are starved etc so they run faster right? hmm.

ok. shall go and continue with my taxonomy readings. sigh. was so tempted not to go lab today. took me 30 min to get out of bed... and then i was taking my own sweet time pottering ard the house etc, but i still got to the lab at a decent time! versus me running like a mad chicken whenever i'm late for my tuesday morning meetings. hmm. i will never understand the way time flows. -_-"

Stoning yet again

wants my public holiday desu. the streets were so empty this morning... and there were pple in suits and fancy hats walking ard. weeeeeeeeeeh. and the lab corridors are empty-ish, the uni is quiet (well, quieter than it would be for exam period) and the super mugger ran is at the races!!! *jealous*

is tempted to siam early and just go shopping at bridge road. hehe. but erm, would bridge road even be open since it's a public holiday and it's racing day too??? hmm.

oh oh. and i can see clearly once more!!! got my specs fixed yesterday. the optometrist was giving me verbal disclaimers... like if we bend the frame and the frame or lenses break it's not our fault blah blah. but yay the frame didn't break. hehe. i realized that my extra pair of specs doesn't sit very well on my face... becos the bridge of the specsi s relatively high up the frame, so when i wear it, i actually can see the top rim of the frame and it's kinda irritating. hehe. but anyway. goign to get a new pair of specs when i go home. this pair is peeling along the sides... and all the funky cool glasses on display at the shop yesterday!!! but so expensive!!! 600AUD! insanity. hope i can find smthg as nice and much much cheaper back at our family's latest fav specs shop lol.

mou the scrabble game i have going with teh amy chi refuses to load. irritatingness! *prods facebook violently* i have just set my dragon to attack someone. la la la. hopefully she/it doesn't get trashed too badly heh. and hopefully she'll win. -_-" feed the ego a bit la la.

anyway, update on lab... supervisor going to milk scorpions tmr i think... cos the electrical stimulator is still being repaired and is due back tmr. then more gel running etc. i shud really go and settle the reagents sigh. IS LAZY DESU. wants my holidays now. is starting to feel vaguely trigger happy... -_-" it seems like some sort of reflex, everytime swotvac/exam block rolls ard, i suddenly have this urge to go and play comptuer games and blow stuff up... maybe i should go play mroe bejeweled 2. bwahahah. shiny desu~

The unfairness of it all!

mooooouuuuuuuu!!! tmr is supposed to be a public holiday but apparently i don't get a holiday!!! unfairunfairunfair!!!

or rather, i think i don't get a holiday. my supervisor says that our meeting is still on so weeeeeeeh.

today = STONE!! haha. super quiet... i think a lot of pple took mon off... lucky pple is gets long weekend.. *sulks* was living in denial again this morning (wat's new) but eventually i rolled to the lab... and reached before 11!! *impressed with self* hehehe

i finally have the book on scorpion taxonomy! yay! now to read the relevant parts... hmm... and no idea how to reference it either -_-" need to go and dig thru the other articles that ref-ed it to get a hint.

fixing glasses vs going for a talk on smooth muscle cell differentiation... decisions decisions. high chance of me going there to stone as usual but oh well. will decide later... like at 3.55. hmm. XD

supervisor just contemplated out loud sending me to union to buy him his lunch. *falls down* but he hath wibbled off to buy it himself haha. surprised to see him in today. he's not supposed to be here on mondays!!! so lucky i came to the lab haha.

me and char went to kfc for lunch just now. yummy yummy fries. haha. i was saying that if i ever worked at kfc, i'd just be hoarding the seasoning for the fries and getting too happy on that. XD

Weird dream!

you know how every once in a while, you dream of going back to school and taking exams and stuff? well, i had one of those dreams last night and it's too random and funny not to share.

so for some reason, i'm back in JC... and it's block test week i think... and the first paper is at 2pm... and for some strange reason, it was some computer-based thing and i thought it was optional. so i slept in.

and then da jie rings me (someone else missed-called me but i can't remember who, one of the class guys i think) at 3.15 and goes "oi! where are you!! the exam over already!!"

and i'm like "huh?? i thought it was optional??? oh no!! die die die."

then she says, "it's ok, the exam only worth 10%, remember the 2 surveys we're supposed to fill out? one is worth 2% and the other 10% (don't ask where my brain came up with those numbers from) so if you fill them out should be ok." (again, don't ask where the rest of hte marks are coming from)

and then i freak out, cos guess wat? i couldn't be bothered filling in the form and it was due on that very day. so my mum rushes me to school and i don't remember wat happened next, except i think at some point of time, i meet liz and she was like "oh, ya, i didn't go for that exam either. didn't feel like it." lol. which is a very typical response from the queen, you know, complete with the shrug and head toss lol.

and then fast forward, i get sidetracked etcetc and the dream ended with me missing the 5pm deadline becos i'm mucking ard doing goodness knows wat, and i gave the form to... mrs foo i think? to fax for me.

can't have been my dinner right? i think yesterday's stew had some secret ingredient i wasn't aware of adding... like maybe pollen or smthg.

speaking of pollen, i managed to pollen up my t-shirt and stain my hands yellow yesterday while attempting to rearrange my flowers. note to self, shaking lilies in full bloom with their anthers (i think that's wat it's called) full of pollen is NOT A GOOD IDEA. -_-"

oh and my supervisor has finally shown up once more. yayness!!! and it's friday!! even more yayness!!! no dance tonite. maybe i'll go shopping for my dress for the wedding hmm.

off to work or smthg. think i'm going to the animal house with supervisor later to visit the scorpions. lucky i fed them yesterday hehe

Cricket catching

hee hee.

just went to feed the scorpions. HoD freaked me out by appearing randomly and asking how they were and said that roger was saying that one of them died last week.

me = OH SHIT (cos i didn't feed them)

so i went to the animal house (and skipped the seminar, not like i was planning to go anyway) and checked on them and YAY THEY ARE ALL STILL ALIVE. -_-"

so anyway, i didn't spend half as long catching the crickets as i did the first time i went to feed them. cos they were still in the small plastic box, so i didn't need to chase them ard the large box. and i've discovered that if i open one side of the lid, tilt the box and then tap very violently vigorously on the other end, the crickets will fall out of the box and to their doom new enclosure. which just happens to have a scorpion inside. XD

crickets are stupid. scorpions are even stupider. i was hoping to see some hunting in action, but was disappointed again. no matter how much i prodded the scorpion/cricket with random leaves that are in the tank, they just refused to meet. and even when the cricket hopped over the scorpion, nothing happened! that coming from a scorpion that was running ard quite energetically (and ended up sideways against the glass wall) after i overturned its rock and changed it's location by like 5cm. -_-"

so yay mission accomplished!! i even chucked a few crickets into the redback spider box as well. altho i'm starting to wonder if that spider is still alive... it hasn't moved from its position for too long. and it didn't evne react when the crickets hit the web. the last time i saw roger chuck the crickets into its web, it sprang into action straight away. hmm.

going to siam soon. looks like it's going to rain? i dunno. it was pretty warm just now when i went to STA to collect my ticket. sha la la. ok. i think i shall shut down computer, pose a bit to let the wires cool down and then go wheeeee out the door hahaha i wonder if char will still be ard by the time i'm done to go get ice cream... but then again, if it rains, i can't juggle my bag, laptop and an ice cream. and i should cut down on the sugar for the rest of the week man... seriously overdosed lol.

Birthday babbling

YAY~ happy birthday to me!!! and happy halloween!!! and erm, for the heck of it, happy 1st of november!!! i muchly thanks everyone for all the wishes and the presents desu!!! super over-sugared thanks to all the cake and dessert that i've been eating since... monday i think lol. i dunno. but yes. it finally occurred to me this morning that it wasn't very smart to put a jarful of flowers above my tissue box becos, well, wouldn't the pollen fall straight into the box??? -_-"

speaking of boxes, the box of crickets is still on my table. so i assume that roger still hasn't shown up. dammit. means i've to go cricket catching later before the scorpions starve to death. hmm... how to do that i wonder... if i bring a tub of ice along, i could sort of freeze them so they won't be so active?? but then they might all jump out... unless i put them in the other box (that doesn't have the huge crickets) and then shake it slightly so only a few fall out, then i just catch those and my life will be simple?? i dunno. argh. anyone wants to volunteer to catch crickets for me??? i've half a mind to ask ran to do it since i doubt he's scared of creepy crawlies like me. -_-"

ANYWAY. update on my wonderful b'day where i self-declared holiday and then couldn't wake up the next day hehehe. monday midnite! the tim and the deva showed up at my door with a burning cake. lol. thank goodness it's only the wireless router outside my door and not a fire alarm lol. yesh. so i whacked 1/4 of the cake and got high and laughed and laughed until deva got so traumatised she ran away and left the tim to deal with the very hyper person aka me. ^_________^ then we spent abt 15 min figuring out how to get to the dandenongs (stupid bus services) becos it didn't make mcuh sense to sleepy and hyper pple. XDXD

tuesday! woke up early (ie before 12 on a 'holiday') but we missed the train. so we got on the next train after posing at the station for abt 20 min... only to realise that we had to wait another 20 min after reaching the belgrave station. so we posed again... then we went to MISS MARPLES~! XDXD and the really really cute teapot shop next to it... was so tempted to buy a teapot but decided no point cos, well, i don't drink tea. and lazy asses like me can't be bothered washing the tea leaves out lol. ya... so yummy yummy shepherd's pie and scones~ then we almost missed the bus back to the station... turns out that it was just late. lol. so we got back to the city and went to visit mag at starbucks. wah. impressive work attitude. lol. wandered ard DFO while waiting for char and zhuanster to join us... went to jay jay's and bought a t-shirt... was eyeing an elmo bag but it looked weird cos the straps weren't long enough. sniff sniff. hehe. ya... then camped out at starbucks till we got evicted, so we went to chinatown for duck rice. yumyum~ oh and then the amy chi rang me at 2.30 am to tell me happy birthday adn that she'd bought a new pair of shoes. -_-"

wednesday~ was supposed to go lab... except i accidentally fell asleep without hitting the snooze button. and the rest is history. woke up at 1.45 feeling very happy. obviuosly. lol. ya... so it was super slow motion day... just pottered randomly ard the house folding my clothes and cooking the rest of hte fish in the fridge... and ended up dead on my table again shortly after waking up. -_-" but eventualyl dragged myself out of the house and up the street for random entertainment and chicken rice, only to realise that i was supposed to meet the JCH gang for dinner not dessert as i originally thot. ^_^" so dragged self home to change into less daggy clothes and wibbled off to chinatown. and ran into the jch pple on the way. lol. super msg-fied noodles! went high again... and scared everyone... including my mum who rang me later in the night and i started babbling at her. lol.

oh and then goddess msg me to tell me happy b'day, except i'd forgotten to save her s'pore mobile no, and for a moment it just didn't register that there was someone else in s'pore who would msg me... so i replied 'who's this?' to the msg and only after i sent it out did i realise it was goddess!!! *digs hole and buries self* OMG PETTO IS SO SORRY LUVERLY GODDESS I SWEAR I DIDN'T MEAN TO FORGET WHO YOU ARE!!!!! *head desk* so yes... erm... hee. i hope i didn't manage to get the wrath of the goddess turned on me. ^_^" apparently my present is in her room somewhere... so am i supposed to treasure hunt for it? or maybe i shud just wait till she gets back next week lol

oh and i did smthg really really REALLY stupid and painful last nite. i was brushing my teeth when i accidentally slammed the head of my toothbrush into that thin membrane btwn the bottom of my mouth and the bottom of my tongue. NOT VERY SMART. started bleeding and looking really scary. so today i have a sore tongue-attachment-thing. which aches even when i eating so weeeeeeeeeeeh enjoy the peace cos i can't talk as fast either. -_-"
