New phone~!

i have a new phone~! the nokia 6500 slide... so my bluetooth name is slider... like jumper... except that slider spelt as sldr doesn't look as cool. heeeee. i finally get a slide phone yay~! so the i guess the next phone i get will be the normal design, cos i've more or less been thru all the ways a phone can be opened... the clam shell, the one that flips out sideways and now the slidey one. hee.

spent most of last nite configuring my phone and figuring out how everything works. i love nokia pc suite. i managed to transfer all my contacts and messages over to my new phone after abt 30 min of scratching my head, ocs i was so excited abt having a new phone that i forgot to ask the guy to help me do a sim card data transfer. -_-" not very smart but oh well. at least i got them over instead of having to do it manually. XD

oh and for those who can actually read my blog and care abt wat's written on it, i'm now on the 3G network. hee. $49 cap, which means that i can call lots of ppl so if i'm bored, da jie and ning are pretty high on my 'to irritate' list. XDXD

erm. very boring week at the lab. many days of going home early cos there's noone ard. like now. empty. was planning to pour gels, but i don't know where the keys to the fridges are kept. -_-" they disappeared out of roger's drawer, altho i swear that i saw ken taking the keys out from there on monday or sometime last week. hmmmm. *shrug* the mysteries of the lab. incidentally, ken's off to the antartica. or have i said that already? -_-"

ya so... shall go and pose a bit... and... i dunno. stone i guess. think i'll head home ard lunch time... i think i'm dressed a little too warmly (long sleeves and a jacket) cos now the sun's shining quite happily altho it was raining quite heavily this morning. well. heavy enough for me to curl back up asleep for 2h... but then again, i always do that whether or not there's rain. XD haha. terrible.

oh yes, brad's my new dance teacher now cos tyson injured his foot again and i think he can't dance for a long time more so he had to quit... poor thing. he keeps getting injured, can't be good for him considering he already had surgery a few years ago and he was only 20 or 21 then... oh well. i don't get to rant at him for stress relief anymore, but is ok. i'm sure that brad will be just as snarky and fun to babble. XD whee~! at least i don't get adam cos i think adam's a bit too serious for me. or maybe emo would be a better word. hee

Literary dreams

i think i ate too much for supper. lol. and read too much of 'the persian boy'. cos i was dreaming of having a literature exam and the essay topic was on it!!! i think the question was like... "using characters and examples, describe loyalty and smthg else". lol. but this morning when i woke up i could actually remember the answers that i was planning to write the essay with!!! *dies laughing* and i remember thinking wow, i've got such a long time to write this that i can take my own sweet time cos i know the book pretty well. -_-" and i think we took the exam in the 4A2 classroom, cos i remember running back to the 4A1 classroom, except the toilet was at the wrong end of the corridor... so the layout was like the lower sec classes (toilet at end of corridor instead of by the stairs going to the canteen) except that it was an upper sec class. make sense? lol. XD

just had an ethics lecture. which was really itneresting. except i got sleepy and i was in 2nd front row. ^_^" lalala. erm. hi. ya. but i didn't actually doze off... just got so blur that i accidentally unbalanced the swing table (the ones in the rand theatres are really irritating. just poke it a bit and it slams back down) so my pencil case and phone went flying. lucky patricia's leg wasn't in the way... otherwise i'd feel really bad. hee.

the weekend was the fun! really cold, so spent lots of time in bed. ran out for ice cream on sat nite, except it was too cold so after buying ice cream we ran back to camp at my place. hehehe. and yesterday's weather was more winter than summer... was so tempted to wear my fluffy jumper out but i didn't so i half froze before i warmed up cheonging over to kat and rox's new place. which is muchly PRETTY and COMFY and now i'm jealous. weh.

this is weird, the usage qouta for my uni mail suddenly jumped up to 77% from abt 30%. but i've got no new mail... hmm... is this like in advance of receiving a large file??? hee.

going to talk to supervisor abt project soon... when the media pple leave. they want to film the spiders in the display cabinet (they're dead of course)

cold week ahead! perfect for sleeping in. weh. and i think ken's going to the antartica... for the cruise thing. LUCKY. i want to go too. but 2 weeks on a ship. wonder whether i'd get restless... think teh max i've been on a ship was a couple of days? but that was the cruise to KL so it's not really constantly at sea cos we did get off to go shopping. hehehe. and speaking of antartica, when's the solar eclipse anyway? i think that it's going to be a full eclipse there right?

Trying to be a scientist

i have finally had a mini-chat with my supervisor! the scorpions will prob be in over the weekend and we should be milking them next week too. there also might be a field trip (guess who refuses to go) to get more.

now to settle the experiments.

murphy's law in action: the week where i'm good and show up everyday at 10+ (ok. so i overslept and rocked up at 11 yesterday) there's noone there except for the HoD -_-" oh well. all teh better to slack off when i get bored. hehehe.

the blog is still not working. think i need to redo my coding. hmm.

news from home abt the puppies: they are cute! and growing. and full of mischief. lol. brandy stalks my dad round the house while rocky stalks my mum. how cute.

my sister might be coming to melb for a while week after next for recruitment. going to bring her to camberwell for pasta. anyone wants to join us? hehehe.

nice gloomy weather, perfect for sleeping in. my bed calleth but i sitteht on my butteth in the labbeth looking intelligenteth. heeeee. i technically get to go home earlier today cos the meeting was at 9.30. hee. hten dance at 7... need to go and dig out my shoes. i've forgotten all teh quickstep that tyson taught me. and i need to hunt down a skirt for my medal, which i can hopefully so in may. and may the date note clash with thesis submission too. hmmm...

okie. back to work!

and my cough is slightly better... i think. more intermittent than yesterday at the lab. hee. en route to ice cream indulgence! XD

Lung exercises

ok. so my code is still not working. LALALA. help.

and my mini sore throat from too much CNY goodies developed into a full blown cough last week and is not going away. and the cough mixture tastes gross (wish i hadn't finished the whole bottle of strepsils cough syrup i brought from home) and doesn't work as well (maybe i'm not taking enough? does 2 teaspoons = 10-15 ml???) cos instead of feeling nice and un-coughy till i fall asleep, i had a coughing fit last night before KO-ing. but i must say, once i was asleep i didn't wake up till this morning. which is good, cos for the past few nights i'd have a coughing fit in the middle of the night. hmm.

oh yes, we've discovered a place that serves a really yummy chocolate fondant. and it's not even a dessert place. it's at 'live bait' near to the telstra dome at the... docklands i think? hee. was kinda comatosed and in need of sugar when we went there. there's an interesting fish and chips shop there too, but didn't try it. maybe will go back one day.

have a sushi and boost craving argh. need to drag charmaine out on our random food tours. hehehe... and thanks to this stupid cough i haven't had ice cream at all since coming back. sniff. and the weather's been so hot too. *wails and throws tantrum* i want to eat my gelati dammit!!! stupid cough *pokes lung*

anyway. no one's ard at the lab again. well. ken aside. and the new ams student from indonesia. i'll go and be sociable later. i can't be stuffed talking now in case i start coughin again. i think the lozenges work better than the syrup wtf. think the lovebirds will be in from tmr onwards maybe? unless she's late and he's still jetlagged. LALALA. and various ppl are starting to finish their projects!!! *stress* altho the good news is that i just looked at hte time table and i actually have a bit (emphasis, BIT) more time than i thought i did. which is good. so NEED TO START WORK DESU!!! only... my supervisor's not here (well it's monday wat to expect) and i desperately need a meeting to whine and whinge at him over the unfairness of life and poke him into milking the scorpions before getting down to work. of which none has been done since about... november last year. -_-" LALALALA.

incidentally, the weather is bloody hot. did i mention that? i wish i wore my 3/4 pants today. it's supposed to hit 34 deg and i'm stuck in jeans. and covered shoes. damn. at least there's aircon. hehe. my fan was doing overtime yesterday... cos it was the type of day that was too warm to not have a fan, too cool to justify turning on the aircon. hmm. oh well.

the first aid guide the lab came up with is out! and i have a copy. it's very... small and cute. hee. reading thru it now. lalala. okie. off to work then. will attempt to fix my blog later. maybe. sigh. irritating.

It's lab time once more...

so after living in denial for the first half of hte week, i'm finally back in the lab... and my supervisor's not here. and my HoD thought i was coming back next week.

so, technically, i've exceeded everyone's expectations. by sitting at my desk and fully utilising the internet. XD

anyway. a quick update on my life this week so far. hmm. got back to melb on sun morning, went to the market, THE GRAPES ARE CHEAP AT LAST!!! XD ahem. ya. well. cleaned my apt and then knocked out for abt 6h and woke up at 8. and then at nite i was too wide awake so i ended up playing the trial version of cake mania thru till 6am. woke up on and off from 10am-3pm, pottered ard a bit, then took another nap (LA LA LA) and woke up and had dinner at almost 10pm before wibbling to safeway to stock up on honey sponge roll and yogurt. hee. then, i think i went to sleep cos by that time i'd slept so much i was perpetually sleepy. hee.

tues... decided to sleep in cos. well. i was sleepy. ahem. ya. woke up and went to the city to shop. and i now have a new stuffed toy called woof. can anyone tell it's a dog. lol. was poking all the toys at the teddy bear shop. i made a duck sing nad couldn't figure out how to turn it off so the poor saleslady was talking to another customer while we stared at the duck bobbing and flapping it's wings and singing 'splish splash' until she was done and could tell us how to switch it off. ^_^" after that went home and attempted to install internet except it refused to cooperate. and it kept making my laptop freeze up, so i had to do a forced shut down on my poor nimbus at least 5 times. in the end i gave up cos i felt bad for putting my poor laptop thru that.

wed... woke up intending to go to the lab. except it was rainy and dreary and perfect for sleeping in. so i err. went back to sleep. my excuse is that i was coughing too. the remnants of CNY overindulgence. hehe. ya. attempted to install internet again, this time with the tim's help, except my compy froze again. so he called the 3 customer service (speaking of which, i'll be switching to 3 at the end of hte month in case anyone was interested. so no more long free convies with you laling!! weh) and the guy was really helpful and he managed to sort hte problem out (ie, my start-up had too much junk programs interfering) after almost 50 min on the phone. so now my start-up is muhc much faster. *pats nimbus*

and apparently there's smthg wrong with my blog. grrr... can someone please comment if you can see this post. i shall go and tweak the settings now. irritating. BLEH.

End of the hols...

la la. well. back to melb tmr nite. is sad... will miss my doggies and the holiday that was not meant to be so... work-free.

and it seems that my blog is behaving weirdly. can everyone see this post??? hmm. oh well.

ya. so. for whom it may concern, will be back on sun morning and raiding the market. la di da. got to start cooking again and reading journals sob sob.

off to have fun on my last nite at home~!

Puppy love

rocky has been toilet trained!!! the lightbulb in his brain finally went on that he has to jump back into his cage to pee and poo onto the th tray there, not do it right next to the tray on the floor outside. XDXD and he's learnt the 'sit' command too!!! *is proud of him* the puppy finally proves that he has some brains despite bashing his head in on the chair and falling off the stairs. lol. XD

brandy on the other hand... well. we sent her back to the kennel for training over the CNY weekend. think she shud come back much better. i won't be around for her grand arrival, but hopefully she'll be more civilised. and better behaved. at least when she gets back rocky won't be fussing and whining everytime we shut him up and at 6 in teh morning when dad comes downstairs to get ready for golf. was quite traumatic the first nite she wasn't ard. rocky was so frantic by the time we got home from reunion dinner that he was quivering and shaking and licking our hands desperately and couldn't calm down for at least half an hour after we got home. then he barked and fussed the whole night. so the next night we went out for dinner, we set up my cd player and speakers and put a hillsong CD on loop next to his cage. but as i said, he's learnt pretty fast that he's not supposed to fuss when we leave or come home.

other news... i'm leaving for melb on sat! and i still haven't done any work -_-" haiz. holiday mood +++ oh well. my project... is something i shall not think abt. but i will figure it out. BETTER figure it out rather. i can't wait for AMS to be over altho i'm enjoying the relative lack of stress. and one area i'm defintiely not going to go into will be research. bleh.

hmm, wat else... watched 'american gangster' yesterday. not bad, thought it would be boring at first, but it turned out pretty ok. cos got some action near the end. hehe. smart guy, the way he smuggled drugs into america. i want to watch the jack neo movie!!! 'ah long pte ltd'... looks like it'll be worth a few laughs at least. hee. can anyone smuggle a dvd over to me??? hehehe. we can have a hokkien/mandarin/singlish night. XD

had family reunion just now, steamboat... mum got too enthu with the ingredients, lots of leftovers, so guess wat we'll be having for lunch tmr, not that i'm complaining. got yummy stuff. hee. XD think we're going to waraku for dinner with grandma tmr, cos sisters will be off to their husbands side for dinner, so we'll be alone. have to go clean off black nail polish and repaint... is the chipping muchly. hmm.

la di da... apart from that, not much has been going on this week. besides chasing madly after puppies. can't believe i haven't been playing compy games at all for so long. and on my break too! miracles never cease. lol. ya. oh well. maybe that's why my degree is getting better? hmm.

ok. off to go play some msn games before sleep and painting nails. am reading 'fire from heaven' by mary renault, will prob bring 'persian boy' back to melb to read. and as always, when i read those books, i feel like watching the 'alexander' movie. -_-" and maybe i shud go buy 'funeral games' just to complete the pseudo-trilogy? i dunno. see how bored i get with the books i have in melb. hee. speaking of which, laling! if you reads this, do you want to borrow the cassandra clare book??? in case i forget to ask you if you come over on fri. hee XD
